This already exist. You don’t need pvp gear to pvp. You can also PvE in pvp gear. I’m more of a fan of the way it used to be in MoP with pvp power. It made more sense. Stacking a bunch of versatility on pvp gear is just boring and really just encourages players to avoid actual good stats on their gear so they can survive in PVP. Why not just bring pvp power back and give us some options on the additional stats on the gear.
Soo… How is blizzard going to keep people pvping if obtaining the gear wasn’t unreasonably grindy? How long does it really take to obtain a full set of pvp gear? I haven’t done any pvp this expansion but I know in DF it was less than a couple of days, for a bad pvper, to obtain a full set of blue PVP gear. It didn’t take more then a few weeks to get full conquest gear. A big part of a y system in wow whether that’s mount farming, raiding, mythic +, pvp, etc … is getting the rewards. If the rewards were obtainable any easier it’s highly likely a good portion of people would tire out very quickly then you’d be griping because noone was queing for battlegrounds.
Iono I’m not saying your wrong. Just saying from my experience. I played resto drood heavily in mop. I solely did pvp for 90% of that expansion. I thoroughly enjoyed the pvp system and I thought it was kind of neat there was specific gear for pvp and it wasn’t as lazy as putting a ton of versatility on gear. It also gave you something to work for that felt enjoyable and you saw the benefit of having the gear in pvp.
As I get older I stopped caring about alts as much. I do realize that I’m not the majority and this doesn’t apply to everyone. I like the idea of having to work hard to make that 1 character Uber powerful and if you want to do it on a 2nd then you gotta start at the bottom and do it again. It used to mean something to be an awesome “insert class” in pvp. I sound old af right now lol. Just feels too easy to gear up toons as it is and pvp used to be so much more grindy. I remember back in vanilla taking months to get rank 11 spending 18+ hours a day just to get that crappy blue gear on my mage. While I don’t want that level of tedious back, ever, I’d actually participate in more PVP if the rewards felt more rewarding. Again this is all my opinion and prolly don’t share it with most of you…before y’all come at me with pitchforks and torches.
That is the challenge of making this game I am sure, we all want something different.
I love playing and gearing alts for PVP. I basically only PVP in this game, and love playing the same BGs from 20 years ago. The content is evergreen because the players are always different and I can play PVP alts to have an entirely different experience.
I would not have found my new main (assassination rogue), if I could not have jumped around and played a bunch of classes/specs and relatively quickly geared them up. It also helps me get over the _______ spec/class is so OP!!! reaction when getting destroyed by someone, because I just just make one and see what it is like.
It was perfect in shadowlands s1. However, qll the pvers cried they had to do pvp to get a trinket.
I was glad at that time within first few weeks amd had mythic gear, everyone i played with in pve complained how easy it is to get gear from pvp and destroy pve… its all because of pve babies.
They do when Mythic raiding and high m+'s are now a requirement to have any chance at pvping well. You shouldnt have the do top tier pve content to do top tier pvp content.
Us primarily pve content players would lose our minds if the roles were reversed and we had to do arenas to do our pve content
So you haven’t been playing very long. This was done for a long time. It was total crap and people whined so bad. PvPers specifcally whined the loudest about how they were being forced to pve because they were getting wrecked by pve players.
I would love this… But unfortunately it’s not entirely possible. If gear is beneficial people are gonna feel compelled to do the other content they don’t want to and be unhappy. Blizzard has tried multiple times and it’s just not feasible.
I do wish it wasn’t quite so useless in the crossover right now but tis what it tis.
Not if gear is equally found in both content. you do what you like best and if you ever do the content you like least you might be rewarded for gear to do the content you like.
no one lose anything.
When I am done with my raid and mythic+, if I go pvp I might get eventually to a rating to get a piece of gear useful for my pve. and vice versa for pvp players.
