Make Conduit upgrades specific to loot spec?

And how long timewalking has been in game compared to this system?

The RNG conduit system is legit awful. Want a quick an dirty solution?

Double the cost of conduits, but make them specific (you buy the one you want). Leave the RNG one in there at the current price, so you can roll the dice for your off-spec/completionist.

For anyone that says “it’s not that important or not that much power” … honestly if the most positive thing you can say is “you don’t have to do it” … then it is a terrible system.

Stop. No need to whiteknight Blizzard here. They got this feedback in the Beta, ignored it, then finally realized it was bad game design now. It’s a good change, just a year late.

Barbie elf please, I told you the reason it takes long to implement changes on new systems. Now calm down and go back to Dalaran Toy Factory Inc. /pet

I think they knew it was bad design all along. This allows them to pad out the time spent chasing these upgrades and then sell them as a QOL change later on and pretend they’re listening to feedback and doing the players a favour.

If it takes them a year to fix one item in a new expansion then it would take them decades to make a new expansion. Stop. The truth is, the devs don’t play the game, so they don’t see that stuff like this is terrible game design.

No you stop, tiny angry elf from Dalaran Toy Factory Inc. Game is fine for how old it is.

This is only a valid excuse for domination sockets which are clearly restricted their coding by gems from alpha/beta tbc.

Cause as an outsider looking in on it, they clearly made gems and sockets function as a one way system. Meaning to never replace, only destroy. And the need to have an item (jewelhammer focus, chisel, etc) are items that somehow have approval from the server to create a duplicate of the gem in the socket and then flag the socket to be cleared. Then they just needed to be bothered to extend the indestructible flag for the gems.

I can understand things taking time but at this point there is no reason why they don’t have template spellIDs (hey AoE spells function as such with certain modifiers and then you just tick off how they work, and change visuals). Instead it feels like they make each spell from scratch or copy from a pre-existing spell that was not 100% functioning. And then months later down the line they manage to fix the former but not the copied/changed spell to have the fixed functionality.

Same thing should have been done with domination gems during ptr. Not making people wait until a bit in 9.1 and potentially have lost gems.

If you seriously believe that, then… yikes.

Code can be changed. It is not immutable. No different from opening up an old word document and changing it.

Just takes effort and ensuring the stuff layered on top does not break. And if it’s that much of an issue then maybe they should create a translational layer to communicate from a possible new engine to any legacy components that still exist above.

Then go work at blizz and do it, what stops you?

I would be homeless with their salaries.

You are for sure now since tedrasil is gone

I have a nice comfy spot in torghast, mind you.

Well sure not conduit energy removed…or increased to 3 / day.

On a side note, will this prioritize potency upgrade over Endurance/Finesse?

So the rich get richer.

Please fix Instance lag

That we now of :stuck_out_tongue:

My problem is that I haven’t quite figured out what conduits are yet. Like, I’ve gotten a few, and learned them, and maybe an upgrade or two, but what do they ^do^ exactly, how do they improve me? Gear I understand, talents I understand, but what are they…

Can we get this applied to world quests as well? Please? All I ever see on my hunter are conduits for BM/SV when I need MM conduits. Same with my priest. I get holy constantly, but almost no shadow at all, and even disc is a dry well.
