So, it looks like maintenance is done, but I see no difference. Game will still not launch. “unexpected error”. On an Imac running 11.6.

Im on a 2020 Macbook Pro Intel Core i5 processor, I think that falls under the type that is not supported?
It depends on what GPU you have. That determines Metal 2 vs. Metal 3 support.
Shows maintenance done. Still won’t launch. Did a full re-install, problem persisted.
So is there a plan here? Or are we just supposed to pretend this isn’t happening and a whole group of us aren’t being completely screwed over…
blizz should be firing all these incompetent lazy workers… clearly they have no care or work ethic to make sure things are running smoothly before release… How do you release a patch without testing … actually blows my mind. Most useless devs i’ve seen.
Intel Iris Plus Graphics 1536 MB
good thing we’re paying a monthly sub when we got days we’re not even allowed to play the game because the devs dont know how to test before releasing anything.
They’re too busy harassing their female employees, lets give them a break guys
ABK been stealing money from employees and treating everyone like garbage, no wonder the morale is down and nothing gets worked on. The only workers left have no care… the good ones left.
That GPU is listed as being supported by Metal 3. So you should be able to upgrade to Ventura and be OK. However, as a precaution I would make a clone/backup first before doing so just in case it doesn’t do the trick for you and you need to downgrade for other reasons.
What about everyone who cannot upgrade? Are we just hooped, or is this actually being worked on? I don’t even see anything to suggest they’re working on this still.
Okay im def about to just try it, how does one make a clone/backup? should i just put it on this old 1 TB hard drive i have laying around
The first Blue post in this thread shows they are working on it. The follow-up Blue post also indicates they’re still working on it. As the issue came to light toward the end of the workday it won’t get fixed until later today at the earliest.
Nope, nope, and more nope. Not unless the 1 TB drive is an external SSD. CASC and APFS do not play nicely on platter based hard drives.
Thanks, I completely missed the follow up post from them. It’s disappointing that we lose 2 full days minimum to this, but at least they’re addressing it, I guess…
Same, I quit mid SL and came back for DF, which I’ve actually enjoyed. So glad I did not pay the 6 month sub.
Awesome thank you for all the help. Im upgrading to Ventura at the moment will let everyone know if i can also confirm if it is a fix for those of us able to do so
Working fine on:
2018 Mac mini i3-7100
eGPU - Sonnet RX 560 (supposed to be Metal 2 only)
Ventura 13.1
Had the memory leak that only affected after several hours of play.
Recently upgraded the officially unupgradable ram with a spare 16 GB stick I got for free and with 20GB ram haven’t had the men leak crash - yes I know it fills the Virtual memory and would die then - maybe I just haven’t been doing the same marathon sessions
