Mage Tower - Heartbroken

What they could’ve maybe done was introduced a currency that you can buy the armor sets with, but make it so each account can only buy 1 set per cycle. And make the grind for it pretty intensive.

And this would not work for werebear or the achievements (so not for book).

I think this would be a good compromise and would allow the weaker players to get the sets on their main and then others very slowly.

That’s just using your customers against one another.

You realize that you’re prepared to sacrifice “elitist” players for the sake of other players’ wishes. You have no idea how many players have completed it and would be upset relative to the number of players who are upset.

On the surface you think you’ll be saving the game but you have no idea what the reality of your choices would be.

I find it especially telling that players are more upset about the satisfaction of the players who have resubbed for some cosmetic rewards than the happiness of the players who are hear pounding their faces against content without complaint.

I’ve been guilty of using scare tactics to make points, and I think there’s some merit to your concerns, but the fact that you’re so prepared to call for heads to roll, so ready to strip content from other players, like snatching a meal from someone’s else’s mouth because you couldn’t have it.

If you can’t have it, nobody should, right!?

Blizzard, is that you? It sounds like you, I just don’t recognize your face.

You’re not wrong, but the MT isn’t why, come on.

Player feedback regarding the mage tower says otherwise.

How is an optional piece of content with cosmetic rewards destroying the game?

That sounds a tad dramatic.

Because something so small as optional cosmetics, blizzard can’t even get right. Let’s not forget about SL and BfA as a whole.

What ?

No. OP part is the Strength part. The heal is quite secondary.

When you have 300 or so strength, having 2 enchants that give you 92 on a close to 100% uptime is massively OP. That’s close to 25% more primary stat.

How did they get it wrong? Because you have to actually work for it unlike 99% of the other cosmetics in the game?

Mmmmmm what? There’s tons of people beating the mage tower. If you suck at the game you can put in the time to farm a timewalking set to make it easier. That’s what I ended up doing on a few classes that I hadn’t played in awhile when farming my mount.

Some of the towers I was playing a class I was familiar with and / or it was an easier tower and I just banged it out in Shadowlands gear, others I was being pepega and had to go farm a timewalking set.

Either get good or get to farming lol.

What exactly did you think Mage Tower was?

It’s not impossible. It is hard. That’s how it was in Legion.

Arguments about SL’s being harder/ not harder than Legion aside, there was always going to be a significant portion of players unable to complete the challenge.

Why are you surprised that it’s not easy? It’s like you walked into a sandwich shop, ordered a burrito, and were confused when they told you they don’t serve that.

Yes, I’m well aware. The heal is so OP, that non-strength melee classes are using crusader for their challenges. Doing dps is great if you’re alive to do it. For example, Agatha puts out a lot of damage and not having to waste GCD’s to heal or pop defensives just to keep going - outlaw rogue w crusader is a totally different experience than without. Infinite sustain, makes the challenge so much easier.

For what ? The healing is mostly meaningless.

It’s really the strength that makes it shine. Same for Paladins, why bother with some piddly enchant healing when you have big WoGs at the push of a button in a pinch.

Unholy gets Crusader “for free” with Fallen Crusader.

You’re still gonna Death Strike with Dark Succor on imp kills.

Fury gets Victory Rush from the same thing. Crusader doesn’t matter for the heal. It’s really the DPS. Kill imps faster, use Victory Rush, resume DPS on Agatha.

Builds multiple expansions on borrowed power

Brings back old content because their new content is trash and everyone hates it

Can’t decide which borrowed power to give to help with their impossible TW Mage Tower - decides the best route is to provide none

Wow, we finally got the devs to agree - no more borrowed power!!

Borrowed power has been a stupid idea for over 5 years. Too bad they can’t do anything else besides design new BP systems because they’re workplace is toxic and the management can’t provide any real good developmental direction for the best MMO ever made in history.

It’s not though. It’s completely broken.

You uh… read a lot into the few sentences I’ve said. And I’m quite certain the ones upset far FAR outweigh the ones that would be ‘hurt’ if it got nerfed a bit or made year round. No one can know that … but yeah I’m still pretty sure.

I’m not calling for any heads to roll… I’m not sure where you’re getting that from. Good day.

Wasn’t really big on my Fury clear. Victory Rush dwarfed it massively.

Yeah, lot of dead imps means a lot of victory rushes. My rogue however, with a 30 second Crimson Vial that heals for 20% HP over 4 sec that also costs 20 energy had a night vs day experience with crusader than without.

Also my BrM Monk DW with crusader made it possible to push dps without having to constantly stop to top off with 2-3 casts of vivify. Expel Harm just not enough to sustain with everything going on - esp on kruul when defensives had to be saved for annihilates.

Also good on both DH encounters.

Oh no. Not 20 minutes! You really put in some major practice to get that far only to fail.

Your suggestion has possible implications that I don’t think you’re recognizing. You’re prepared to invalidate the efforts of an unknown number of players for the sake of an unknown number of players, based on the complaints on the forums.

I think we both agree that they failed to provide content that serves a wide enough range of players. I don’t think throwing other players under the bus for Blizzard’s mistake is the right response.

Perhaps that’s the result of our different perspectives.
