Right… but the ones you a DO have are highlighted white. There’s no ambiguity as to what is and isn’t available to you to use.
You don’t have to pretend you’re explaining the finer points of the quadratic equation, this really isn’t that hard.
Correct. This is not the same thing as:
^This is false.
Why are you stressing ‘wanted’ like that? Are you saying you have the option to but you don’t want to? And I’m supposed to believe you definetly would go to the tower for those cosmetics when you can’t be bothered to get the easy ones you don’t have?
Right. That’s because they’re retired and you missed the boat.
Why? Are we going to pretend the drop down menus for the weapon mog were superior to just listing them in the barbershop because it didn’t trigger your need for 100% pixels?
That was your own fault. It’s not Blizzard’s fault or anybody else’s you decided to AFK for the bulk of Legion.
Of course you can. A good timewalking set loaded with gems combined with this expansion’s kits and broken trinkets like seed pod go so far it’s a joke by comparison.
Making assumptions and sarcastic jokes about why someone was on hiatus is never a good look; just saying.
Sorry I’m not a dungeoneer nor do I raid so it’s not entirely trivial to me. It’s fun content, but not trivial for some. We can’t all be as super awesome as you I suppose.
I do like how you missed my entire statement on FOMO before my statement on mage tower but you know pick and choose what you want to hear and attack and ignore the rest because it doesn’t relate to you.
Guess we’re past the point of mature discussion/debate because it’s all “Muh specul pixels belong to me and no one else.” Wonder if they stopped teaching about sharing in grade school.
Because I, like everyone else in this game, have certain aesthetics I am going for and certain looks I am chasing. I don’t like the colors of the other 2 owlcats, so I am not going for those. It’s not that I “can’t be bothered” lol. So they are listed in grey and locked, BUT … still obtainable should I change my mind. The Mage Tower looks are listed in the barber shop exactly like all of the obtainable looks and should not be, if they are not obtainable ever again.
By simply being listed in the barber shop it is implying that these are other looks we can obtain and unlock somehow, hence, potentially available to all druids if they do something special to unlock them. Why be so deliberately obtuse?
To further add to support this claim of yours; A lot of drakewatch script looks are not listed and are actually invisible on your rostrum until you learn them. Blizz has the technology to hide things from your lists that you do not know yet and possibly will never know so why do they still list the unobtainable druid forms?
No, I ignored your statement because ‘FOMO’ is inapplicable to seasonal rewards, which is essentially what these appearances were. If you would like to learn what ‘FOMO’ is and why you used it wrong, simply ask and I’ll enlighten you.
Why? Because I haven’t kneeled to your orange text when you have no response to my points other than to deflect?
Are you pretending this isn’t the MO for both sides of the discussion? If they weren’t special, nobody would complain about not having them.
Is this a weak attempt at an insult, or do you actually think I’m utilizing the lexicon of a grade schooler? And for the record, you have an astounding entitlement complex if you think you deserve something you didn’t meet the requirements to meet.
You really want my answers so I guess I’ll spell it out for you.
This was an assumption that I simply didn’t care by “AFKing” for the bulk of Legion.
I chose not to by choice because there are other venues of gearing up than bashing my head against a wall trying to direct 4 random individuals who all have differing opinions on how a run should be done, who gets what loot, and “Why are you standing in the bad!”
Your phrasing and word usage towards the topic and towards me give the feeling that you are saying you are superior. Maybe try to use different wording or phrasing to not come off as a hostile juggernaut who believes he knows what is truly right…
FOMO(Fear of missing out) is a concept used to push people to either subscribe or stay subscribed (boosting activity numbers) to try to get something before time runs out. It’s a bad concept to use and should never be used. Small Edit but “Seasonal” subtly implies it’ll be back after a full circle around the sun in some sense. “Limited” is probably the word you’re looking for which means once it’s gone, its gone.
How does the color of my text mean that I’m entitled when I ask for mature discussion and debate. Not haphazard one sided “My opinion is right and it should be the TRUE fact.” I am entirely open to seeing your side but so far all I’ve seen is “No you should have been there, end story.” on WHY they should remain exclusive.
My idea is everything should be available to everyone in some form or capacity. New players will come, see something they like, look it up and then be discouraged because they cannot get that thing anymore. Limited time shinies is a bad market design.
It’s a genuine statement because I see so many people not wanting to share in the joy of having something they got with a newer generation or people who may have taken breaks for personal reasons who are now coming back to see what they missed.
But they technically brought back a different version of the mage tower than before.
Classes are different than what they were and you’re scaled to a certain level and ilvl. So like I said you are attempting the challenge differently than what is was. It’s just like cutting edge. You can do the mythic raid anytime you want and get the achievement for killing bosses, but cutting edge is only through that tier.
So now yes you can do the mage tower whenever, but you will earn a different reward since it is different.
And on a side note. Back in legion you had to farm a currency in order to get access. Which you only had x number of times you could attempt. I know I ran out a lot so I couldn’t do it at will. And it was only up for a few days because it was on a rotation. Now you can do it infinitely,
You people are such suckers. There is literally no difference between 99% of all mounts. They ALL do the same thing outside of the vendor mounts. You all CHOOSE to chase that carrot.
It’s very hard to really make them less flashy in terms of the glow cat or more/less flashy in terms of the werebear when the whole basis surrounding them is their unique looks in the first place. What are they going to do with Glow cat? Make it NOT glow?
As for the old MT werebear skins its difficult to release “new colorations” because the colorations they did have were all so natural and very well received by the druid populace. Fel werebear is just… I’ll give them the points that they TRIED but it’s just so unnatural and subpar to the original colorations that I’d rather have. It’s not like they can just slap dalmatian dots on a bear and say “here ya go!”
I guess the point is the original mage tower skins for druid just looked so natural for what they were where as the next iteration they gave us is like sucking the color out of a rainbow to make it sad.
It will go how it always goes when Blizzard brings back limited time items, some people will throw tantrums on these forums and on social media about it, and then tire themselves out and stop caring and never mention it ever again.
It’s a simple colloquialism to say you weren’t engaging with Legion, which is what you stated. You’re being intentionally obtuse and it’s silly.
There’s so much wrong with this. First, you don’t need to group up to get old gear for a time walking event like the mage tower. You can go into old raids and dungeons and solo this content. Second, again, you choosing to not engage with the content doesn’t mean the gear you get can’t trivialize the current tower. It absolutely can. Third, based on your attitude, I can promise any content you are ‘directing’ is going to end in disappointment, and it would be because of you. It’s very telling how egotistical you are to think you’d be the shot caller holding it all together while simultaneously stating you don’t engage with that content.
Superior to what? To whom? You make a lot of loaded statements and I suspect this is intentional.
Take your own medicine before insisting others do.
This is incorrect.
This is a matter of opinion and one I disagree with. It’s a time tested method to spur engagement with a product or a movement.
Again, you’re being intentionally obtuse. In the context of video games, and specifically this one, seasonal rewards don’t come back. This isn’t a secret.
No, I’m looking for seasonal. But the tower rewards were also advertised as limited, so I’ll thank you for that free point in my favor.
Because you’ve gotten a mature discussion yet you’re still lobbing the accusation.
You haven’t gotten that.
Allow me to enlighten you since you clearly missed this:
Okay. I disagree.
Or they’ll be motivated to not miss the next thing, like I was with the WoD CM mog.
It’s incredibly effective for engagement. You would know this if you ever took a marketing class or researched ‘FOMO’.
Oh please. This isn’t some real life heritage artifact we’re talking about. The devs have stated the tower rewards were a badge of honor for engaging with that content at that time. That’s all they are.
Well guess what. You missed out. I missed out on some appearances myself due to personal reasons. And guess what. I missed out. The onus isn’t on Blizzard to make up for my life at the time, or yours, or anybody else’s. That’s not their prerogative, how could it be?
The artifact appearance aren’t coming back. My advice to you since you seem so hung up on being mature: accept the facts for what they are and move on. You can’t have everything and you’ll never have everything, and that’s okay. Move on with life. Maturely.
Reading your responses and I’m not going to bother using the same formatting as I did before and I’m not going to, for whatever reason you did, highlight singular phrases in your paragraphs to respond to individually because I honestly don’t want this to be a back and forth of who can make their post the longest with “Quotes”.
Forgive me for not clarifying but I was referring to the old mage tower when I made that comment. Granted I still prefer the other venues of gaining gear than trying to direct or other people directing hoards of others to get a dungeon/raid done. I did the current mage tower on my druid in gear I got simply doing open world PvE and converting it into tier at the catalyst.
As for your earlier post in your thread; thank you for posting it because you’re right, I didn’t see it. In a 300+ post thread that I’ve only now just seen, I cannot magically skim through it and know every fine detail that’s already been put out there.
The last thing I want is to trivialize your experience doing the old mage tower, that is not what I am aiming for. I suppose my main complaint in wanting more OG options is that as it is currently for Druids (which is my current main and my most favorite class, I literally have 14 at level cap) they only have one option of the original werebear skin available to them as s sort of consolation prize and it is a disappointment. Especially since there is no Alternative Glow Cat option given for doing the current Feral spec mage tower run.
I suppose my post slightly above reflects how I personally feel on the subject of the druid forms:
Originally in Legion the Mage Tower Druid forms were tied to their weapons; they weren’t some consolation prize like the Fel Werebear and no one knew that eventually the barber shop would allow us to pick these forms without having to have the weapon equipped. This is where the frustration is coming from when you see a druid complain about Mage Tower skins. It’s a frustration because we see those skins physically in the barber shop, we can preview them, but we are unable to use them because they are locked.
I honestly don’t know what more to say on the topic cause I feel like I’ve literally put it all out there without trying to sound like a “gimmel gimmie” gimmick. I will however say I did make my attempts at Legion Mage Tower and I failed because of a combination of my lateness to return and a thing called dyspraxia. I don’t often say that my failed runs were caused by this disability because I feel people will simply tell me I’m using it as an excuse to not do the content when in reality I tried. I only got past the first phase of the bear fight once and every subsequent try I made I could not even get that close again.
I’d like to add that it was through sheer dumb luck and the fact the mage tower is always there now that I was able to get the fel werebear.
“For whatever reason you did” Yes… for whatever reason… totally random, had nothing to do with me responding to those concepts. And I don’t know why ‘quotes’ is in quotes, and I don’t know why you bothered adding a preface. Just respond to the points as you see fit, it’s that easy.
Perhaps I should have elaborated as to how that post is relevant to this discussion- the challenge isn’t the same (and can only be approximated, not replicated), and the old rewards are functionally identical to AOTC mounts (and seasonal rewards in essence). I didn’t mean to assert you were trivializing the experience.
Well… ya, that’s exactly what it is. It was made a consolation prize specifically because it had unique and exclusive rigging, something that can’t be said for any other artifact appearance. And that rigging is being utilized this patch for other bear forms. As to whether the current bear is disappointing or not, I absolutely love it. I use it almost exclusively despite have 3/4 OG werebear skins. Sadly, Blizzard cannot account for personal taste.
I’m sensitive to this frustration. Where we diverge in our response, however, is that my solution is ‘hide unobtainable or secret forms from the list,’ not ‘make the exclusive forms available again because it’s not fair that I didn’t get them at the time.’
I think fundamentally we disagree on the function and subsequent value of these rewards in the WoW ecosystem such that we won’t be changing each other’s minds. With that said, I invite you to contact me via in-game mail if you want to give group content a shot but are reserved due to your disability. It’s not the same as getting missed rewards from the past back, but it might help decrease the number of missed rewards moving forward.
With that in mind, I’ll be spending the rest of my evening with my family. Happy Thanksgiving.
