Why yall worried it’s not even out yet.
Heck prepatch and a month into s1 they will still be tuning and trying to smooth it out.
Just roll with it ![]()

Thank you for the clarification ![]()
I select Blizzard, the regular spell, and it doesn’t do area only target. What is the 2nd one? I’ll check it out again. It’ll probably help if there wasn’t a 30 second delay in abilities lol ![]()
Let’s be honest with each other though, a main cool down that has this many ways to be disrupted doesn’t feel good. Sure, you could probably get it off in a bg or even wpvp, but in an arena with coms, unlikely you’ll get a channel.
At least with icy veins, if you were kicked or stunned, you still had some time left on it. With Ray of Frost, it gets disrupted and goes on cool down. Doesn’t feel right for a major offensive cool down they want us to use.
I’m not worried about numbers, those always tend to get tuned. I’m worried about the pruning and game play of the class. Then you know what they say, it’s just alpha, it’s just beta, it’s just pre-patch, it’s just the first patch, it’s just the first season, etc… until, it’s just alpha, it’s just beta, etc.
I guess so, right? Or… hear me out, may seem silly, just don’t touch Glacial Spike and leave it by itself, reaching that same skill ceiling on choosing when to launch bolt or Glacial.
Typical of Blizzard to remove something then add it back in some convoluted way. I’m not sure what the equivalent would be for Hunter, but maybe aimed shot turns into sniper shot or something.
At any rate, I do appreciate everyone’s input. I sincerely do and I’m happy it’s been respectful for the most part. Cheers all!
Just about every class/spec on beta feels terrible they are all xbox controller ready.
I keep telling you, it’s a choice node now.
I found it! Thank you <3
I shared this point in the beta section, and I’d like to bring my opinion here as well regarding Arcane Mage in Midnight.
First, the new talent that replaces Arcane Explosion has a very long cast time. It’s almost certain that this talent will not be used in PvP, since it adds yet another cast to a specialization that already needs to constantly expose itself to cast abilities.
Another important point is that several class defensive abilities were removed, and the new design philosophy seems to put greater emphasis on our barriers, making them stronger overall. However, in PvP, barriers are not very effective, as they can be easily dispelled and their duration is significantly reduced by the PvP talent Powerful Barrier, which grants its benefits after the barrier is removed, not while it is active. This creates a direct conflict: either we use this PvP talent and lose the additional strength of the new barriers, or we ignore the talent and give up a valuable PvP option. The new defensive philosophy for Mages shouldn’t contradict a PvP talent specifically designed for the class.
Speaking of PvP talents, I also noticed that several of the new talents that interact with Touch of the Magi, including many introduced in the new expansion, simply do not work when using the PvP talent Ethereal Flow, which replaces Touch of the Magi. This leaves us in a problematic situation: either we avoid important talents in the specialization (including new expansion talents), or we are discouraged from using Ethereal Flow in PvP.
In its current state, Arcane Mage in Midnight ends up discouraging the use of two PvP talents that should be valid and competitive options, which is not a good sign for build diversity and playstyle flexibility.
It isn’t. Its meant to just die. ![]()
Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t all images getting two ways to get out of stuns with 2 charges of regular blinks that plus a trinket.
Three ways to get out of stuns.
Correct, you can select the talent to get two blinks or displacement. The tradeoff, if you can call it that, you lose mass barrier for it.
You also don’t have the damage reduction on greater invisibility. A lot of the defenses got nerfed, and a 5% increased barrier absorb as a capstone talent isn’t going to fix much when barriers get dispelled.
Having played the beta, frost mage felt really awful. The whole shatter thing is gone from winters chill.
no one cares what happens to gods favourite class
disgusting class has way too much and is finally coming back to reality.
It’s actually completely broken as of right now. Who would have thought LOL.
Mages have had a utility kit that made them nearly impossible to hit since the inception of WoW. This was the case to the point that they rarely ever had to kite because it was so annoying to focus them when there is a S priest, warlock, ele, etc that are much easier to track down. No one is going to feel bad for mages that will have to finally learn what it’s like to be pressured and have to kite all game.
all 3 specs are btw, it’s not just fire
this meta is so unfathomably gross
I meant in the beta.
I was responding to this. They had their entire kit pruned and are one shotting people.
That’s not fun either. Numbers and damage can be tweaked though. Also, appears it’s a bug. Beta after all.
The game is in a constant state of beta.
eh i dont care for beta tuning til it reaches the end. they still haven’t even finished class design. i think spriest is still missing talents lol
mages finally getting what they deserved. no tears here.
You got it! Probably be good for the game, since you may see fewer of them.
Sunfury firemage destroys people on the beta rn. Go duel some. Find a good mage player, even an average one. You going to be in for a bad time. The whole of the game is changing and it’s going to go through some growing pains. There’s a vision, either sit back or abandon ship.
