To everyone saying ‘there’s nothing you can do, it’s already official’:
Blizzard said Classic wow would never happen. It did because of what people said and did.
Blizzard said level boosts would never happen in Classic. Here they are.
Blizzard goes back on what they say all the time and changes their mind, for better or worse.
I work tons and I have very little time, am starting a family, etc. Given my demographic, I would be the target for the boost. At first, when I heard it at Blizzcon, I was like ‘hell yeah, I can boost a priest or a rogue, because I’d love to play one end game but dang I can’t seem ever max them out’, but that reaction was short lived. I don’t think it’s a good idea for the game, the community, and the people who care most about Classic WoW.
Boosting is fundamentally destructive to the integrity of the Classic experience. We know this because we’ve watched modern retail decline for years now. If you need more evidence, watch the video, MadSeason explains it better and takes all the time in the world to work through his thoughts completely.
@Blizzard, please do the right thing. You said you were listening to your community, your community is being VERY vocal. Listen. Take some lessons from your own past, at very best, your community is hugely divided on the subject. Gameplay First. Those are your sacred words. Boosting is not gameplay. Get rid of it.

Oh look, no argument to stand on. Ad hominem attack by calling those who either like, dont care or accept the boost isnt going away “whiners”. And a delusional one at that, if you think Blizz is taking back all that profit they are lined up for.

Yes. Yes we do.
Here it is: Blizz already announced it and they are going to make truckfuls of money from it.

I’m not the one making pathetic youtube videos crying about a boost in a soon to be rereleased 15 year old game. The ending was hilarious btw.

Blizzard should just add a paid service that will allow you to buy a max level toon with all bis gear and mounts. Just pay a premium service to skip the game and go straight to the rewards. Then we can pay a monthly fee to look at our toons or run instances that we don’t need gear from. Or if blizzard doesn’t offer us this then we can just buy gold from bots and pay paladins to boost us and get our gear from GDKPS.

Found the guy who can’t wait to use the boost to maximize profession dailies.
Botters be damned, you want them sweet dailies.
Me me me me me. Community be damned. Server economy be damned.
Gimme my daily profession cooldowns. Or save me time of leveling. Who plays an MMO to level up and quest? LOL
Wait…

This brings back memories of TRH, the first cash shop mount in wotlk. RIP Totalbiscuit

Look, I’m not a big fan of them offering the boost, but it makes sense from their perspective. Anecdotal evidence is pointing to a large portion of the player base (maybe 40%) buying gold. Chances are at least some of that purchased gold was used for boosting. Why would Blizzard not just offer that service themselves since people clearly are willing to pay for it?

Honestly they should just throw in a token too at this point.

Classic Vanilla happened because Blizz’s lawyers insisted on it so they could defend Blizz’s copyright. All the talk about how the public talked them into it is just a fantasy.
The fact that Blizzard made millions from the deal is just gravy.

Why don’t you summarize the video then?
Please waste an hour of your life watching this video before you are allowed to have an opinion that disagrees with mine. Also, the person you watch is getting monetary support from all the ads. Even though you disagree, you need to give him the watch and ad support, or your opinion is worthless.
If it was 10 to 15 minutes, that’s not a big ask. Still should be summarized, but I get it. You want me to spend an hour and I would bet good money I’ve heard every argument he has on these forums already, and seen them disproven, too.
Summarize it or it will be ignored.

I would happily buy that.

And it made sense to defend it because of what people did. Your point reinforces this idea.

So what are they going to do now that will change Blizz’s opinion on the Epstein private island level of money they will get from the boosts?

So, let’s all go back to stealing copyrighted material.

We should, then we can just pay the server gms for the gold/mounts/boosts instead!

Blizz handing bots a ready-to-go farming machine. What could go wrong? Oh, but it costs money! They’ll recoup that in a day. People think botting and gold selling is bad now? Wait until boosts get added. Then players will whine gold selling is out of control. At which point Blizz will add the Token. We’ve been down this road before. It’s all connected.
Just like how people questing out in the world will wonder suddenly why the world is empty because of boosts. Enter CRZ to give the illusion of a player base, but really it’s just random strangers you’ll never see or interact with again. And the death of the community takes place a second time.

The TLDR version is a classic zealot is doomsaying and mad about “things”. After TbC launches successfully he will have another video crying about something new. Rinse and repeat.

Of course. He stops getting paid if he stops making content.
Can’t make content that says everything is fine and there are no problems, that won’t sell.

Verses three days unboosted, plus they’ll have $60 in the bank.
