Madseason boosting video

Do you really think Madseason is low tier?? lmao.

I agree, I’m probably the most anti-boost person on these forums. Pro-boosters will always argue “it has no affect on you, shut up”, yet it has a monumental impact on many players, that lots of people on these forums don’t bother to think about.

You give the Classic community an inch and they’ll take a mile.

Right, I definitely understand what you’re saying. A boosted vs non-boosted bot account’s money making metrics start to look the same the more hours they exist. And Madseason showcases an example that says 10k boosted acounts make $2.6m while 10k non-boosted accounts make $30k. The reality is that the 10k non-boosted accounts will also begin to make $2.6m after 3 days of ramp up.

I guess the point of it all is that as long as a boost remains more profitable (which it will be significantly more profitable if Blizz took a harder stance on bots or just ever more slightly profitable if bot accounts continue to run rampant), the bot accounts will always buy the boost.

But yes, I do see the misleading part of it.

Next year on Madseason’s youtube, now with 385k subscribers! “Why heirlooms, LFD and cash shop sparkly special horses are going to ruin WOTLK classic!”

Yes, yes I do.

Boosts a great idea /shrug.

Can’t believe people really think bots and cheaters will use the boost that much, 60 bucks is a large investment for them.

Both myself, and another person already posted a summary of the video in this thread lol, you expect me to respond to every comment on this thread with that summary?

You expect me to read every single post?

Here’s a tip. Edit your first post in the topic to contain the summary. It is earlier in the thread and more people will read it.

Ideally the OP should do it. It would solve the problem outright.

It is edited into the first post. It’s not our fault you’re too lazy to bother checking.

Again, video breaks down the math of why boosting is profitable for botters, after accounting for cost of the boost+sub. Could help to either watch the video or read posts that addressed this instead of just repeating what you already thought

Not to me.

Enjoy your trash.

Not sure what your point is here, but it sounds to me like you’re agreeing that the community’s response to Blizzard’s original decision to never make Classic WoW directly contributed to Blizzard releasing Classic WoW, which is evidence to suggest that if the community reacts strongly enough to Blizzard’s decisions, they will change their minds. Not to mention Blizzard actually saying in interviews that they are open to changing their minds if the community is vocal about it. Here we are, being vocal.

As I said, and as MadSeason said repeatedly in the video, the community is deeply divided. Blizzard is testing the waters to cash shop features here. If you like it, let them know. If you don’t, speak up. If Blizzard makes the same mistakes they’ve made with modern retail in Classic, people will again find a way to play the way they want. Whether it’s reviving dead servers with viral reddit posts or making new online communities and forcing Blizzard’s hand with their success.

I have no expectations of you lol, but you probably shouldn’t complain about other people not doing something if you could solve your problem yourself but can’t be bothered to haha

You mispelt “thieves”.

Everyone will use the boost, including most current players and many players who are BC and Wrath babies who found Classic to be an imbalanced mess. Saying players who boost won’t stick around is asinine. I’ll use the boost on both of my accounts, and I’ll still level a BE Paladin just like I did originally.

Blizzard wants to have the most players possible for this project. It’s how they justify running it. Their code, their rules. I half expected WoWToken to be a thing to combat gold selling. Don’t be shocked if it comes at some point.
