Absolutely mind blowing. With middle of the road graphics settings (I have not tried higher yet) I am hold 120fps steady to match the 120hz monitor @ 4k… This is crazy, this should not be possible with a laptop GPU SoC. This plays better than my PC. Apple just set the bar so high no one else can even see it…
Oh, I will admit I am an Apple Fan boy but I definitely don’t get anything out of it. I am an IT junky so seeing something like this come along and disrupt the industry is not an everyday thing, not at this level of disruption. This is ridiculous, big rig PCs are dead, paying $600+ for a GPU is dead. If a laptop can do 4k@120hz without kicking on a fan it’s game over.
Have you told the folks in the Tetris forum and Wendy’s Drive Though yet? I mean look, it is the only subject you have posted about, and in a forum for a 15 year old game that runs on a potato.
The spontaneous gushing about it like a commercial is suspect.
I really dislike Apple an an entity. I’m all about tinkering and open source. They don’t like any of that. Its kind of gross how apple has become “fashionable”. I cant wait to try out my linux phone in a few months.
I’m glad you are happy though dude, thats really great.
I was really big into Apple when Jobs was alive, and when you could actually do your own troubleshooting inside the system (Pre-OSX). They are such high-priced hands-off systems any more that a PC is WORLDS better for tech-savvy individuals.
Yeah, I like open source a lot, too. On my Desktop, I mostly ran Linux, prior to WSL, now there’s really not much reason to. Direct-X is the biggest reason to run Windows, imo.
There definitely seem to be a lot of haters towards Apple and macOS, but personally, I find macOS to deliver a significantly better user experience, which I suppose is subjective, as it’s preference based.
I likely wouldn’t buy an Apple desktop, and I don’t enjoy using Windows (or Linux particularly) laptops without a mouse.
I played Cata, MoP, WoD, and Legion on a Macbook Pro. I didn’t raid at all in MoP or WoD, and was on a 15" MBP for Legion (with a 24" external monitor). Obviously, YMMV, but I had no issues.
they are detuned, status symbols today and that’s coming from someone heavily invested in apple hardware. They are awesome work computers but heavy gaming will destroy them.
Yeah, that’s true for me. I’ve worked with some teams who prefer Linux, and even some who prefer Windows. For Desktops, I don’t have a strong OS preference, though I’m least familiar with Windows tooling, but for Laptops, I find Apple products to be considerably better.
I did get a Dell a couple years ago to try it out, and ended up swapping back after a week. With WSL, I’m able to do most programming tasks on Windows without any issues, and other than some editor shortcuts being different, I hardly notice it.
