M+ is NOT content! The problem with modern WoW

Actually you are wrong. That is why many content creators have stated what I’m saying. That is why many friends and players have left. Just addressing the elephant in the room. This game isn’t good and we fix it by talking about the problems and finding solutions. If you don’t have a problem cool. However the drastic decline of SL and WoW show there are problems.

I am not asking them too. This is what YOU are saying.

You seem to be missing a major point of the thread. You have to be able to complete content so you can move on. It’s literally THEE MOST IMPORTANT part of an MMO. You can’t do that anymore and in modern WoW. You are stuck on this hamster wheel instead of being able to enjoy an MMO or it’s unlimited opportunities.

If players are forced to do all these systems and rep grind and endless M+ etc which feels bad they never get to play the part of the game they want to enjoy. They never get to complete something and do something else. They never get to make alts and do different things. The majority of your time is wasted going down a checklist of repeat activities you wish you didn’t have to do. This is bad design.

We want to get players off the hamster wheel and into the content and activities they WANT to spend their time in. They will keep coming back for more and actually invite some friends to join them. The best part of doing something is the joy you experience when you complete it. It’s the ultimate reward in an MMO that creates memories.

M+ and and endless resource grinding doesn’t create memories. The vision of this game is lost and so I’m just here to point it out.

Considering that I love dungeons as a space to enjoy a class if it has a satisfying gameplay loop, much more than 20 hours for a whole patch. I don’t mind the hamster wheel aspect if the class feels good to play. That might be the difference of opinion here.

Of what MMO? MMOs have always been about repeatable content. Always. Other wise, dungeons and raids would drop their whole load every time you clear them.

Did you do the season 1 recap from raider IO? I spent hundreds of hours in m+. Loved every minute of it.

the content of the game IS repeatable stuff now…sounds like a you problem OP
<----Classic is that way, check it out, sounds like what you want

Classic is actually the same way. Every MMO ever is actually the same way. I don’t think he even knows what he’s asking for to be honest.

we need better crafting , better archeology , more puzzle quests, updated world events, way more hidden treasures, updated fishing tournaments and adventures, updated world pvp areas like Halaa and HF towers, better cooking , and unnerf the toybox where you can enjoy the darn thing.

Odd I play MMORPGs to complete something and finish a journey. So do most people I know. There is no adventure on a wheel. So it’s definitely not my cup of tea.

Cool, I want to spend 99% of my time outside dungeons. I don’t mind doing them 1-3 times but I definitely want to complete them so I can move on. I want to get them out of the way so I can enjoy the content and activities I like. The problem is you can’t get them out of the way and so that only hurts the community in the end.

Nobody is forcing you to run m+ after you finish the dungeons. Run them once on heroic and call it a day.

Not everything in the game NEEDS to be made for you.

I don’t like PvP, I’ll never play pvp, doesn’t mean I think it’s a problem that it exists

So…don’t do them?

Or are you part of the community that can’t separate “alternate” from “in addition?”

Or being 100% optimal is so important it’s with campaigning to remove other players progression paths?

Then get out of this genre.

NO “content” is going to last more than a few hours without you starting to repeat said content.

It’s literally impossible for devs to keep up any reasonable release cycle if that’s your definition of “content”.

Replayability is an inherent part of endgame MMORPG content, whether you like it or not. Xpacks are 2 years long, and devs cannot create content that takes you 2 years to complete without repeating things. Dungeons used to be worthless after roughly 2 weeks of an xpack launching, now we have reasons to continue dungeoning indefinitely.

That’s a good thing.

Get out.

This is the typical copout response and no idea why people take this stance instead of trying to make the game better.

So what is the gear progression then for players that don’t want to do M+? Can we just have 246 gear rewarded at Mythic 0 and put it in a vendor for valor. Then that way the people that enjoy M+ can do them and the players that don’t won’t have too. This alleviates the toxicity in M+ too since you remove the players that don’t want to be there.

Again if you love M+ keep doing it but it should only reward cosmetics and titles. You should do it because you enjoy competing in that ACTIVITY. Key word ACTIVITY it isn’t CONTENT.

Keep in mind this is what we should do for Arena too. You should only be Queing for Arena because you enjoy it. All the Conquest gear should be max level at the vendor and have no rating requirement either.

These activities shouldn’t be burdens for the entirety of it’s playerbase.

You solved nothing, I provided real solutions above. I don’t know why you are so opposed to the game being better and take this awful stance.

This is how GD works.

“I have an opinion, therefore the majority have that opinion.”

And every time there’s a thread about how hard it is to get to raid/morgeth, I post my video on how to climb the mountain.

There’s a way around ALL of that . . . but they’d rather whine.

Activity is something you do in a game.

Something you do in a game is . . . by definition . . . CONTENT

You seem very against activities. This game is an activity.

Therefore this game is not content.

I feel hard-pressed to disagree. Just because you don’t enjoy it doesn’t mean it’s not content. I’d have probably already canceled my sub, but I enjoy running mythic + content with friends.

As for retaining old players I’ve been playing since tbc and was very much a casual player up until the introduction of mythic +.

Wrong, an activity is a repeated action you do in game for a purpose. Farming a dungeon for a mount is an activity. Farming gold is an activity. M+ is an activity. Arena’s are an activity. Get it

Wrong, content is a journey you go on, then complete. Once the content is done you can then enjoy activities or do more content.

This honestly is really simple stuff here and the confusion on it shows the rough state of the game.
