M+ is killing WoW

This is neither true for M+ or LFR.

People will not bother to inspect you in LFR, that’s for sure.

I understand your fear and anxiety, but it really is that - fear.

I raided with healing trinkets as dps.

No one warned me otherwise.

Guess not raided, rather did m+, but think both have happened.

That’s fine. Maybe you don’t understand it or maybe you’re really just not built for it, both are fine. But supposing your view is the majority view is a cancerous state of mind. Internally, just always view that as a red flag.

Lots of people enjoy m+. It’s probably the last place one can really make friends in this game tbh. Mythic raiding is incestuous and cannibalistic, you can’t get experience if you don’t have experience, and the only way to move up is to leave your current group. Guilds feed on each other. PvP is the most toxic, gate-kept, exclusive and painful experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. Bad enough that I’d be cautious of socializing with anyone that purports to enjoy it for fear that they’d have some psychopathic tendencies.

But m+ is a vibrant community. I’ve made dozens of friends and connections over the years, friendships that have transcended this game entirely. That’s the most fun part about it, tbh, is the social aspect.

Saying people play for the gear is like people play rpgs for the levels or play Mario for the jumping. It doesn’t really make sense.

I’d rather not. Prob just quit the game instead.

Sadly even that is not very good compared to previous mega dungeons. It barely even feels like a dungeon since you’re teleporting around all over the place and it re-uses the same rooms over and over. Definitely the laziest mega dungeon they’ve done.

How to say im an entitled raider without saying im an entitled raider.

I think it is funny how you make this generalizations about mythic raids and ranked pvp, saying they’re toxic environments, but M+ gets a pass, only because you like this content.

I PVP a ton, and I think the PVP community is way more chill than the M+ community. Good raiding guilds, even the Mythic ones, are some of the best communities in the game.

The bias towards M+ is just sickening on these forums. I get that you guys enjoy this content, but to say it doesn’t have issues, and doesn’t create toxicity in the community is just crazy to me.

Nah, I love PvP.

M+ is my PvP, to you.

Horribly gatekept, by meta.

Yeah, see, it can be the other way around too lmao.

PvP used to be great, it’s only bad because the PvPers never received content over the years, and the circle of “good Pvpers” got smaller and smaller.

At least PvP doesn’t lock you out based on who you are- PvE is completely class-reliant.

meta still exists in pvp lol…

Not in unrated, which is where the majority of PvPers sit

So many battles where one team has healers and the other has tanks instead lol

Idk man I’m kinda enjoying m+

I never said mythic raids were toxic, I just meant it’s not welcoming to new players. Same for pvp, because you’re fighting real people and not AI, there’s no “easy”. The barrier to entry for both is a mile high wall. But pvp players are openly antagonistic, it’s part of the culture. Maybe I’m just too old for that.

Mythic+, on the other hand, starts at such a low and slow pace that you can ease into it on your own time, at your own pace.

Granted, I’ve spent a LOT of time in m+ making friends and having a good time, and maybe there’s some hidden oasis of mythic raiders or pvp players who are welcoming and inclusive, and I’ve never run across them. I could give you the benefit of the doubt there, but I know for certain from my own experience that m+ isn’t some toxic hellscape like this forum makes it out to be.

Maybe that’ll be my next video series, zero to hero pvp journey. I can catalogue what i get up to and what kind of people I run into pugging to 2100 or so.

There it is again

I completely agree with you. M+ is just not right for this game.

I disagree. I like dungeons and m+ keeps them playable after the second week of the expansion. It also gives me something to do as “end game” as I can’t commit specific days and hours at a time for raiding.

M+ isn’t killing the game. Time is doing that chief. The game isn’t dying and will be here in like 15+ years. Again Everquest is still around and is releasing another expansion in December what makes you think WoW is going away? The only thing changing here is you. You’re realizing the game you fell in love with is changing to keep it’s players as time goes on and people leave and fewer new people join. You’re just not happy with the direction of the game, and chances are that’s because the people you’ve played with over the years are probably gone, or less engaged than they once were. That’s the life cycle of video games.

And again I say this emphatically WoW isn’t some kind of sacred cow of a video game that’s immune to changes in how players view video games as a whole. You had fun in this game, cool, if you still do, even cooler, but know no king rules forever. Actually WoW hasn’t been king since like 2012. It’s still king in the MMORPG world, but bro–MMORPGs aren’t the genre they once were. That train left once Minecraft, Fortnite, and League bursted onto the scene, and even now we’re watching those genres start to become sunset within the video game market. Time waits for no one and no thing.

Me personally as someone who is trying wrath and era hc, I liked dawn of the infinite. If they made more stuff like that would be cool. :man_shrugging: :cloud_with_rain: my 2 cents. The infinite stacking m+ is meh.

Im over it. Liked M+ when it first came out but it needs to go. The dungeon design should go back to the way it use to be. It was way more fun

I’ve said this since BfA. Glad people are realizing it.
