It’s one thing to disagree about what content you enjoy most
It’s delusional to come up with multiple made up reasons why everyone loves the same content as you do, therefore the devs should remove other content because no one likes it

I agree it’s a video game not a job.
But if the basis of participation is, “has there been drama?” or “have some players who enjoy it been toxic?” you’ll never play any part of the game.
Those disagreements are the result of their delusions.
From all the WoW players I know (which is just a small biased sample, a PvE oriented guild), I’d confidently say all of them like M+, while only a half of them like raiding and only a bunch of them like other forms of content.
M+ isn’t killing WoW. If anything, it’s one of the things keeping it alive.
I get it, I hate toxicity in this game, too. But in my personal experience it’s a lot easier to not have to deal with toxic jerks in M+ because it’s only 4 other people and a ~30 minute dungeon run.
Compared to multiple months long raiding with the same guild, needing the numbers so your raid leader keeps people around for way too long who are just awful jerks and completely unpleasant to be around. Even the most friendly raiding guild has this happen in my experience.
Toxic people are way easier to deal with in M+ than raiding, so much easier to get rid of them quickly and not have to deal with them ever again. If it wasn’t for M+ I would have given up on this game and the toxic community a long time ago.
M+ and raids above lfr are the only activities I don’t participate in.
edit: add pvp, I stopped playing that a few years ago for different reasons.
My zero tolerance approach sends a stronger message.
Validating toxic behavior by putting up with it means “it’s not so bad players wont put up it to play M+ or raids.”
This is much the same as tolerating a bad relationship. You don’t end the problems by bowing your head and putting up with it.
I raid at higher levels in another MMO I play that doesn’t have a toxic player problem.
WoW can be same, there just isn’t a will to do so by the developers.
If WoW really wants to keep those players then they can be sharded or placed on toxic player only servers so they can play with like minded players instead of forcing the entire playerbase to tolerate them.
My experience so far is LFR has been more toxic than any normal/heroic raid and any mythic+ key I’ve ran so far in DF.
The RPG aspect of the game is gone at this point. Story and lore are there yes but if you play the game you have to do it for the vault. Because if you dont then you are a gearless nobody that needs to see all the cutscenes in youtube because you dont have a core to raid and you dont have a core to raid because you dont do m+ and your gear score is not enough. On top of that you also have to “parse” and do crapthousand dps or hps or else you are out my man. And don’t even get me started on the meta and how bad is always been since the m+ inception into the game. You need 6 or 7 alts ready to do this mindles key grinding everyday because one single hotfix can screw your “main” and now that class is bad for this or that so you gotta play a more overtuned spec even if you hate it like the damn survi hunter in last season of shadowlands or the holly pally on the first season of shadowlands just to make some examples without having to use the obvious one (those damn auggie lizards right now). The concept of main and alter are all but gone because right now you play what is strong because you have to and if you refuse then good luck doing m+ or getting invited into a raid. Granted blizzard is kinda adressing this by making gearing a little bit easier even outside those damn dungeons but still your bis item WILL NOT DROPP from a quest or a chain. Look at all the content that is effectively dead right now just because people have to be dunking their heads into keys for hours unend just to get that stupid harlan trinket. Some things arw been done thats true but right now blizz can dissapear 70% or more of the wow content and some people wouldnt even notice because all they do is sit in Vakdrakken for 2 hours and get inside aberrus for 3 hours and another 2 or 3 hours in dungeons. Where is the roleplay? Wheres is the soul? Thats why I said only high end pvp is worst than this. I know peeps that haven’t seen Dalaran for example for years now because all they do is that. Sit in Vakdrakken que for keys que for solo shuffle… Hope i answered your question if it even was directed to me in the first place and sorry for any screwups english is not my mother language.
They literally just released a new dungeon like a week ago.
So you were aware that they just released a new dungeon…
Anyways, why would they NOT break it up and put it in the M+ pool? By the time this happens people will be done running it, Blizz might as well get more use out of time spent designing it.
How would you determine who is or isn’t toxic lol?
I feel like if they did this the majority of the playerbase would just choose to play on a “toxic” realm and happily enjoy the freedom to relax and enjoy the game without having to worry about whatever labels others want to tag them with.
Let me guess, the amazing FFXIV?
I’ve had the opposite experience, but then I don’t keep up with the chat.
There is no voice comms and stopping to type in the chat gets you killed once the encounter starts most times.
When I’m playing LFR I spend a lot of time helping others. Levitating them so they don’t have to leap off the platform into the lava, life gripping them to me out of the bad, and other things.
It actually helps being kind and helpful. Those players went on to be better at the encounter. Some, a few, even thanked me after the LFR was over.
I’ve only seen 1 kick out of the few(check my profile for exact numbers I really don’t know how many I’ve run) I’ve done, and that was a toxic tank that was troll pulling and other things like that, not taunt swapping, letting adds swam the caster line, your normal low grade troll stuff. His/her gear ilvl was in the i440 range so knew what they were doing was trolling.
Yea, it is
Banning the trolls doesn’t seen to have had a negative effect on participation.
Mythic is what me quit dungeons. It’s out of hand and it fractured the player pool into small segments (for the pugging community).
Most of them take pride in it, so let it be voluntary as you said. Just place an account wide restriction on servers after that choice is made. Once you go toxic that account is forever bound to those server types.
Other MMOs handle toxic players quickly enough for me. They do look at what is done and said and make a decision based on it. So get reported by enough players and one gets audited and if need be, ones’ account moved to the appropriate server.
I dont participate in Mythic + and I do feel too many resources are devoted to it and raids.
It’s always something killing wow. I think this week we should go with Kobolds are killing wow. Why can’t we play as them? Why can’t they just hang on to their candles?
Having the Kobold come to Stormwind looking to take the candles back would be a fun event.
Better yet, let’s implement the good ol WOTLK plague in Stormwind.
