M+ is killing WoW

I don’t feel like I have to play M+ to enjoy WoW, I just felt like I had to play M+ to enjoy raiding. It truly only killed that one aspect of the game for me.

For a while it also felt like world content rewards were balanced around it, and to some extent it still does, but gear acquisition in the world feels good right now IMO. It’s just missing some sort of progression check that isn’t in these dungeons.

Mythic+ is this weird space in the WoW environment that feigns gear progression. Dungeon divers are not getting their time’s worth when they have to manually search, ask, or pay people to run a key. It’s not the end all be all to WoW either. Pretending that Mythic+ is the greatest of all-time content settings would be a fallacy and misplaced use of insight.

Can you imagine if the team put as much resources into PVP as they do Mythic+ we would have actual progression and interesting contributions to the eSports industry as a whole?

I get and got bored watching people do Mythic+ dungeons competitively lol It’s boring. And isn’t interesting use of resources.

Abolishing M+ does nothing for the health of the game. Pigeonholing players into content they do not enjoy is also detrimental. I believe having separate gear sets for different game play loops may alleviate this issue. I’m not sure how they would accomplish this but it does not seem out of the realm of possibility.

I never got the “M+ saved WoW” comments. WoW is a popular game, I don’t think any one system introduced over the years “saved” the game, because I don’t think the game was going in danger of dying.

Nerf Mining.

Explain to me in detail how one carries tens of thousands of pounds of raw ore in a bag without using Minecraft as an excuse.

You may have one chunk of ore at a time to deal with.

Like I posted before.
Fishing will save WoW if you give it the same gear and loot rules as M+.

No one is doing M+ because they love replaying the same dungeons 20x a day.

Over gearing +2 then farming it for unlimited gear upgrades.
Now it’s over gearing what +11? Then farming it for unlimited gear upgrades.

Put M+ on the same lockouts that the ZC rares are on and see how much players love M+.

Actually I’ve long since passed the point where I’m getting major gear upgrades from any source but still enjoy running M+. I’m not running 20x per day but certainly most of my play time I’m WoW is M+. I do actually enjoy the system and can continually progress even though my gear is likely to not change (at least for my main spec) until the next patch save for the new mega dungeon trinket.

Before 10.1.5, you needed to complete at least 8x +20 keys for vault slots, then farm +17s for max possible end is dungeon rewards. Today you have to complete at least 8 +16s for max vault and end of dungeon still needs +17s (you can certainly just target +17s throughout). It’s still a much lower requirement than getting the best gear from mythic raid, but it’s nowhere near as simple as +2s or even +11s anymore.

More generally, people need to stop painting large swaths of the community with a broad brush. Yes, there are people who genuinely enjoy playing 8 dungeons with the affix and scaling changes beyond just the gear acquisition. I may be the minority which is fine, but people throw around unverified and oftentimes unverifiable quantities of all or none or majority far too often. It hurts your credibility if you can’t actually prove such statements far more than it helps…

The only reason I play wow today is M+

They don’t release more content because they don’t want to invest more money in the game

M+ is keeping WoW alive imo, not killing it. Just an opinion I guess.

I still don’t think M+ would have the participation it currently has if loot lockouts were the same as even raiding let alone the ZC rares lockout schedule.

I’ve never played M+ and don’t plan too.
Way too much drama and I just don’t care to put up with it.

I play WoW for fun, it’s just a video game to me. I have no plans to make it a job of any kind.

Many people like you are so blind they defend raid to the death.

It’s really cool when the most vocal opponents to systems don’t participate in them.

Have you considered that your perceptions of it might be biased or skewed by the fact you’ve literally never even tried it?

Go ahead and remove M+ and see if it was really “killing” the game. You’ll find out what a dead MMO really looks like if you tried. If you think people will still log in just to raid in this game go look at Classic.

dis·in·gen·u·ous

adjective

  1. not candid or sincere, typically by pretending that one knows less about something than one really does.

“he was being somewhat disingenuous as well as cynical”

These same people actually believe Classic has, currently, more players than retail lol

The delusion is strong, they also think more people raid in retail than do M+.

But also if more people did do M+ over raid, it’s only because it gives good gear and no one actually enjoys doing it.

There’s always an excuse to support their delusional view on how everyone else totally hates M+ just like them and loves raiding, therefore we need to remove M+.

Frankly, I’d just get rid of affixes and make that clock tighter with mobs having more health and doing more damage.

Saves a lot of balancing time.

I love how flippantly people throw this word around over disagreements around video game opinions

I understand what you mean, but just look at how M+ and raiders treat other players.

I want no part in it and don’t want to even be associated with the players that do those things.

As I posted, I just don’t care to be involved in the drama in any way , this is a video game not a job.
