Not so much Gen Z but the mindset of burning through everything. There certain aspects of the game that can be argued as throttled. But then you have discussions of next xpac.
People that are defending Shamans/MW obviously don’t heal or do higher keys.
Saying oh a couple of unemployed sweats can push 22’s with their full premade is irrelevant as the majority of the players will not even get close to that level while pugging.
I rolled off shaman 2 days into the xpac because I knew Blizzard was going to do nothing about shamans for months (6 weeks on next reset) I’ve healed raid on both Shaman and Druid and the 2 classes are not even close.
While that may be true currently Blizzard has completely missed the mark this time with Shamans. Their niche is having something for all situations (though you have to specifically talent into it now) but it is useless if you’re healing surge does about 5% of the tanks hp while the rest of the team is on fire.

Yeah, shaman’s need some lovin tbh.
I think shaman’s are fine? in raid but just seriously need some 5 man help.
It sucks because one of our good friends is a shaman and he’s like yea our class needs jesus in 5 mans, and i believe him after pugging around w/ shaman.

If you’re pushing Aotc its completely fine just much much harder to pull the numbers druids/evokers do while being efficient with mana.
You have to be on another level in terms of skills to be able to keep up comfortably. Know the fights like the back of your hand and play around your Cloudburst properly…I’ve tried the chain heal build as well and honestly its hot garbage. I raided at a high level with Shaman last expansion and they were already lust/link bot but now it’s just even worse.
In 5 man content, if I want to brick a key I’ll invite a resto shaman. Their scaling is just so stupidly low and requires so much effort to do what druids can do while half afk.

I feel like SL lost a lot of value because everything in 5 mans is dangerous right now, and not being topped off is just danger
If you drop SL and eat a void bolt or cinderbolt or something, well, rip.

I usually heal M+, had planned to do it on Rsham; ended up deciding to do it on my BM Hunter–guess Ima suck no matter what. Lol
you have +200 evokers/druids ahead of them because its a higher chosen class… you realize that, right?
they are highly unrepresented with actual similar values bc shamans + monks are the least chosen class out of all of them by FAR

if both classes are capable of doing >+20 keys which is an INSANELY small amount of players and you have an entire community going “DURRR RESTO DRUID SO OP!!!” yeah of course people are going to play druid and follow the meta
it is very apparent you have no idea how datasets work and i highly recommend going to college for it so you know what youre talking about

When there is a class that is objectively better and easier to play the players are going to gravitate towards it.
Why play something that is weaker and make things harder for yourself?
Lol you have no idea how datasets work, and you’re way out of depth with WoW too with your +11’s where comp doesn’t matter.
So the better/easier class objectively is more popular so people pick it therefore its misrepresented 
I’ve played both classes this expansion and the difference its night and day.
Have you gone ahead and tried both healers before reading off a list from raider io?

I just looked through top 200 healers for SL S1, S2, S3 & S4…compare that to what the top 200 looks like in DF.
It’s also interesting to see what the top 200 looked like in BfA seasons.
this isn’t a black and white debate, there’s so many factors that play into why the meta looks different from season to season. there will always be classes that out perform others unless we give them identical spells and abilities.

Your last 2 sources does not prove that Shamans/MW are viable for the general public, you have a look at the sources again and I guarantee you every one of those Shamans/MW are in a full premade group.
I’ve never had a theory, I just told you that there are some classes objectively better than others and that is the reason why they’re popular and is meta.
You just gave us a valuable insight on Blizzard’s thought process actually, oh yeah some premade guy did +22 on R shaman so they must be as powerful as the meta.
While all the other data you’ve linked clearly shows that on average shamans are inferior when compared to their counterparts.
