While only relatively related, I’m still going to drop this here.
The thing that killed end-game for me was the notion of continuous progression. Take Diablo 3, for instance. Before they introduced those rifts, there was a definite “end.” Not only to the story, but the gear. Once you got your set, you were done. With WoW, there was a time when you worked hard and got your stuff from THE raid. Once you got your set, you were done.
Now, getting your set from normal raids doesn’t feel as much of an accomplishment. Wait, you’re telling me I have to do this all over again at a higher difficulty? Well, no. You can stop at any point. But, if you do, others will soon outclass you. Not real encouraging. However, that’s only my opinion. Not everyone agrees. However, I see it as moving the goalposts or the carrot on a stick.
In the end, it was enough to make me stop doing them altogether. They just weren’t worth my time. Okay, back to more related responses.
I guess the mechanics have been data-mined and its actually more obnoxious than quaking -
Having players shooting out lightning bolts you have to dodge the entire dungeon sounds super trolling. Super trolling. Lol.
It isn’t impossible they change this, but given how low-effort this is, I’m skeptical Blizzard is suddenly going to muster the effort to do something more creative or fun.
Sounds like they want to do a full curse no kiss mechanic that is simplistic, as dumb as that is.
But only one player was shooting out prideful bolts at a time, and also you weren’t fighting prideful all the time, and also you got a big pay-off for dealing with prideful.
Prideful was annoying in some ways but also a lot of fun (it just scaled poorly in higher keys). This is just annoying and that’s it. Lol.
Mythic + is only easy if you’re in a somewhat reliable and already established group. You cant count on pug players to come in to high keys and perform. You literally can’t.
Same reason why you don’t see pugs in LFG full clear Mythic Raid very often
Yeah, I’m sure that effectively neutering M+ would totally have no impact on subscriptions and that everybody would just happily go back to having nothing but raiding or PvP for endgame content. Totes.
Did I stutter? (I mean, I might have I guess, since you can’t hear me over text, but still.)
Complaint is that M+ is repeatable and raid is not, yes? So make raids repeatable for gear. Works, right?
I mean, I’m perfectly fine with tier sets only working in raids.
Unless you just want raids to have tier sets working in PvP and M+ with no comparable means to get that gear from PvP and M+.
I think we’ve established you’re just trolling, though.
Honestly, I’m tired of camps. The entire problem boils down to communication between the players and developers, and yet here people are pretending Blizzard cares if they white knight x or y or z content.
None of the content needs to die or “get shelved” in favor of something else. People need to grow up and internalize the idea that content needs to be roughly equivalent across the board in terms of distribution and itemization, because distribution and itemization matter to all content.
