M+ changes in DF are bad

For me, I don’t see this part as a problem, because 15’s are too easy to have been granting gear just below the ilvl cap (from vault).

the effort a player has to put in to mythic raid is VASTLY more than the effort a player has to put into 15s. the gear distribution was skewed, and in the new system, they’ve corrected that.

Does it negatively affect players who cap out at 15? I suppose it does, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing, gear should be commensurate to the content in which it drops. bringing 15s more in line with heroic/early mythic seems fair.

I think a big part of the problem is the psychology here. People are used to getting max rewards. now they’re not going to unless they (can) do 20s.

anticipate I’ll try to do +20 week one, probably stop at +18 or something.

Mythic being available right out of the gate will make RWF interesting too.

I like the changes. I think they add challenge and commensurate rewards.

it’s more of how math works. Percentages aren’t straight forward. It’s stuff that seems big, but isn’t really.

10000 to 10100 = a 1% increase.

100 to 200 is double. A 100% increase.

20 to 80 is 4x the original value even though numerically, it increased a lot less.

My math itself is flawed though:

Original = 100% (100 hp mob.)

Old +20 = 300% ( 400 hp mob.)

New +20 = 380% (480 hp mob.)

480/400 =20% increase.

EoD same in 15s. GV same in 16s.

Your same loot is in 16s.

Divide 480 by 400 , you get 1.2 (a 20% increase.)

100 to 400 is a 400% increase

And 100 to 100 is a 100% increase when stuff is literally unchanged? (interesting.)

Your math checks out if the health pools are 300 and 380. 380/300 is 26%

but they are not. That was just lazy math.
So it’s even lower than that.

what are you talking about these changes are great, we have never been so close in ilvl to raiders as m+ers since legion where you could tecnically get better gear then them with titanforging from m+, only 3 ilvls behind the last 2 bosses and being able to get mid mythic ilvl boss loot from a 20 end of chest with valor upgrades is huge

More +20ers may be incentivized, sure. They’re the ones getting the better rewards.

The typical KSM crowd is going to see their max gear was nerfed while key scaling was buffed. Will some “rise to the challenge?” Sure. Will others feel let down and just unsub? Of course.

Nerfing +15 gear helps no one. The +20 tier should definitely be there, but the “nerf this larger crowd’s gear and buff the smaller crowd’s gear” is an unfriendly approach. +15 should’ve been left alone and the +20 should’ve been added without touching anything else.

Typical KSM crowd is keeping their same gear. It’s +1 key level.

15 gear is the same it was.

How was half the point of zm gear? We already easily outgeared it before it was even released.

From what ive heard, only the top 1% of players are getting affected by the change but again thats what ive heard not sure if im missing something or was given misinformation
