Telling people not to play with random groups if they don’t want to have the possibility those people don’t have the same playstyle as them is a bad thing why?
This isn’t a matter of playstyle it’s that there’s basically no possibility of new players having fun in the group content while leveling up.
Not too long ago dungeon speeds were in a really good place that was satisfactory for both new and old players.
The dungeons moved fast but not too fast and it was at a speed where it was easy to keep up, pick up the flow and move with the group. Even if you were a total newbie, it was very fun.
Extend follower system to every dungeon. Fixed.
No, NOT fixed.
Making them play by themselves is not a good solution.
It’s 100% a playstyle matter. People are complaining that others run the dungeons too fast, the solution is to not use random groups if you will be unhappy that someone has a different playstyle. Or you can use vote to kick and see if the rest of the group agrees.
Nobody’s advocating for making anyone do anything except you and the OP. You have options, pick one
All dungeons need to, we should go back to using our actual mana
But forcing 4 other players to play your way is?
If that way is better for the long term health of the game and enjoyment of new players, yeah. It’s worth old players being mildly inconvenienced.
Follower Dungeons are the solution, they just need to be rolled out more broadly. Everyone can play at the pace they want without going too fast for some strangers and too slow for others.
So lose existing players to the benefit of potential new players. Got it.
It’s not better though. They have ample options available already, follower dungeons, premades, and questing are all there.
Are you seriously gonna quit over having to take leveling dungeons slightly slower for newer players?
If the answer is yes then good riddance.
It’s more than just new players not getting to learn their class. Even veteran players running something like Timewalking to level alts lose out with these twink tanks. They run so far ahead of the group that no one gets any XP. You are forced to stand there and wait for them to finish or run after them and die or else get the deserter debuff. It’s stupid and unfun.
If leveling dungeons are slowed down I won’t do them. Then they’ll be even slower without tanks queueing, so I guess that’s even better for you
Honestly that’s fine. Because new players are far better for the game than cranky vets who demand that Blizzard kiss their ring.
You’re the only one making demands here. The absolute irony.
If the problem is that widespread, you shouldn’t have any problem finding like minded people to queue with you. You have control over it. You want to remove everybody else’s control. No bueno.
Did someone complain about it or did you just decide to slow down on your own?
That’s an embarrassingly disingenuous argument, even for GD. Bravo.
Be prepared for group play is not the same as don’t do group play at all.
This isn’t about me, I’m not new.
It’s about the fact that WoW retail’s in game community is pretty much dead with no signs that it is coming back.
It needs new players and they aren’t going to stick around for an MMO where all social activity happens on discord.
The new players aren’t coming solely because dungeons are slightly too fast when you queue with total strangers. There’s a multitude of other factors, many of which have nothing to do with WoW whatsoever.
You’re risking loyal current players for a very slight possibility that new players are gonna come.
