Yes, it appears a GM has said the devs are trying to find some way of restoration.
Whether restoration can be done, and then whether restoration will be done, are always developer determinations. If it is possible, and they choose to attempt it, all to the good. But if the answer to either is “no”, that’s pretty much final.
This is Customer Support, not to be confused with Customer Service. This forum is unique in that no staff comes here beyond our SFAs like Vrak and Orlyia. It is a forum for players to assist other players. So that is why I said what I said. None of us can do anything here, and no other staff will see your posts either. Our SFAs can see all of the tickets, but they cannot do anything anymore than the GMs can or cannot do.
Again, I’m not trying to say this to stifle your issue. It’s just that you gain no traction by posting here. The Bug Forum is only one way reporting - you won’t garner a response there either.
At this time, all you can do really is keep an eye out for any hotfixes and/or send in a ticket now and again to see if anything has been updated or changed in regards to the resolution of missing currency.

Wild, same thing happened to me 2 days ago with 26,615 timewarped badges. Was told that they’re working on a fix but recovery of the badges is not possible.
Decided to just cancel my sub, spending thousands of dollars over the last 15 years and they can’t figure out a way to refund my 26k+ badges due to a bug is craaaaazy
The Game Master misspoke, and shouldn’t have phrased it in the way. They should have said that the issue was being looked into and any losses restored if possible.
Our Game Developers always try to do what they can to retroactively restore any losses that may happen. Unfortunately, that isn’t always possible. If the data isn’t available to provide that restoration, there isn’t really anything more that can be done. Sorry.
See, THIS is why you get flagged. You just can’t help but take a dig at Blizzard and their policies/CS every chance you get, you masquerade as being sympathetic, but in reality it is just an excuse to take a swipe at them. I have no idea what your true agenda is, but stop it.
The real problem is that opinions don’t belong posted here, ever. The CS forums function on the basis of the rules and policies the development team sets forth, and the devs don’t come here for feedback, so that feedback is (at best) wasted here, and at worst becomes actively counterproductive misinformation that other players may innocently take as truth.
Feedback goes into General Discussion or into another non-Support forum which may be topically appropriate, or into the in-game suggestion feedback feature.

To be frank, you need to learn to take the lost. Blizzard isn’t going to be able to give you the badges, regardless of how much you want them to. If there’s no logs to prove it on their end, then they can’t do anything.
Full stop. Nothing you post, say or put in a ticket will change this.
