are there very many of them? i used to main wra alliance and all my friends are gone either quitting wow entirely or moving to a private rp server after the disaster that was shadowlands drove them away
There’s a few. I would say the server as a whole is smaller than it was pre-SL, and the walkup scene has suffered, but there’s definitely an event presence and there’s enough RP to be found if you look for it.
You just have to be in the community discords or a guild.
There are enough of us! We just are hard to find. Duskwood is the major walk up scene right now but some of us are working on creating SW rp! Its quiet sometimes but not totally dead. If you want to come back to WrA-A let me know and I can help you get started! We arent all gone yet. Its not dead, most of us are just off rping in the world. We even had a guild faire on friday!!
i wouldn’t even say you’re that hard to find, as all i did was join the Wyrmrest community discord and found all the alliance on the server very quickly.
Most moved to MG. Was part of the Mead Hall which was a very fun community. Remember partaking and helping in Craftfest in Ironforge. Not sure why WRA-A fell off. Some really good memories. Hope those that stayed keep those memories going!
We may be quiet but I always hate hearing we are dead. Im not dead! My friends arent dead. We still put effort into the community and roleplay. The stereotype that WrA-A is dead so you should just go to mg is hurtful and untrue.
i would say the only kind of RP not possible on WrA these days is the “walkup wallflower” or “idle walk through stormwind/silvermoon” types. if you prefer those styles of RP, yes, MG and honestly XIV are better options for you.
WrA alliance is very much “you get what you put into it” and you’ll find plenty of people if you just take the time to look. This isn’t a server that rewards passive RP’ers anymore, and I can see why that means some ppl think it’s dead.

Knot Thimblejack’s Cache is showing up also. Perhaps giving us a few patterns/recipes back.
An event called “The Secrets of Azeroth” (Cap above is related to this, based on tool tips.)
So I realize that I’m really late to this discussion, but I’ve never been happy with the idea of Tauren Warlocks. Yes, I know they exist in game and that lore means absolutely nothing. But warlocks by their very nature were antithetical to Taurens. Lore wise, old and out of date lore wise I suppose, Tauren did not like being the physical presence of anything fel. I remember back when warlocks who insisted on keeping their demons out in Thunderbluff could expect a less than warm welcome from some people there.
I have no trouble coming up with reasons for people to have a Tauren warlock. Oh, for the edge of it all! We’ve all been there and done that, so no real judgement about that. But I guess because of the lore when I really got into playing and RPing Tauren, I just can’t. And I’m sure that other people with favorite races have similar feelings about some new combos.
Definitely think this is a full on “break glass in case of emergency” bit. I’m sure some teeny bits of “new and improved” lore will be used to justify things and Blizz will be pleased with itself and players will find a way to make it work.
In my view, the only thing that should bar a race from being a class are actual physical limitations. Are Draenei capable of using Fel magic? Yes. Obviously. Are Tauren? Yup.
There’s a pervasive view that all of the races are monoliths with no deviations among individuals. A Draenei warlock would be shunned from core society, yes. But so are human warlocks. They have to hide in basements and pocket dimensions.
Rather than say “Well, society says otherwise,” this would be a good opportunity to expand the lore to diverse corners. Forsaken can use the Light, albeit with pain, and a founder of the Silver Hand is one of the Forsaken leaders. They should have a splinter sect of paladins, and this should make other Forsaken factions uneasy.
These things enrich the lore and allow for more diverse and interesting storytelling.
Similarly, it makes a lot of sense that your adventurer character, being an exceptional person that rises the ranks to be called a commander, a champion and dare I utter the dreaded term Maw Walker… would not only be an exceptional individual in power, but background as well. It makes logical sense for our character select screens to allow us to be class and race combinations that are rare. Because champions in general are rare!
it’s miss ma’am maw walker to you!
tips fedora
M’walker.
Damn it. This was better
Of course I’m a Maw Walker…because it takes forever to be allowed to use your bloody mount there!
I’m a Rogue and I’m mean. You can’t possibly beat me to the cleverest sass.
All I got to say is that if Shadow Priests aren’t up to par with the main villain of the new Spider Man movie, they’re slacking and should just roll warlock.
Pretty legit tweed cap visual on the PTR for 10.1.5. All these years, Blizz finally sees me.
