Loot system NEEDING is being Abused!

Do we know if its intended to work a specific way? If so and you are using it outside of the intended usage that becomes rather interesting, as thats the same logic people use to justify using exploits. Might be a blizzard code issue causing the issue, as we all know they are a bit inept in this regard.

Anyways, blizzard has issued acount action for usage of exploits. Food for thought

Seems like M+ would be better, can run 2+s in like 15 minutes, and you arent locked out. Dunno why you wanna slug through raid to aquire purples, seems rather inefficent xD

You enter a pug raid and expect everyone to share your loot philosophy. You enter an opinion on an open forum and call someone with a different opinion a troll. You might have control issues.

Because the entire concept of the Rolling System is that Need > Greed. People are literally rolling Need to vendor crap or sell it to other players or Disenchant or Transmog.

And they win those rolls over people who will actually equip the item.

It’s fine if you disagree with the Need Before Greed system, but the intent is obviously that people who will USE the item get priority rolls.

People in the past were totally on board with this and people abusing this in pugs would get blacklisted.

Seems that after years of Personal Loot, a lot of people are taking the Personal Loot mentality into a system that doesn’t work the same way.

Which is partially Blizzard’s fault. Just go back to Personal Loot if people refuse to adjust to not having it.

But god does it show how selfish people can be that they can’t pass up 84 gold so someone can progress their character.

Ok? People can troll in any mode in this game.

yes this is very irritating to me as well. I think it should just go back to personal loot.

They could just do what they already do, if i have a higher ilvl version of the item I am rolling for, it will ONLY let me roll greed.

I dont see why they cant implement that across the board but tweak it a bit to be any item you are rolling on, if you have something better equipped, you should only be able to roll greed.

Right, so the system isn’t aggressive enough for your liking, so it should clearly be scrapped entirely.

see we have a bit of disconnect here. i dont give a crap what they use the piece for as far as im concerned if they kill the boss they all are allowed a roll on it full stop. if they want to be nice and roll greed they can. if they want to roll need and disenchant it in front of you. they also can. if they were part of the boss kill they can do what ever they want with the gear.

i do not even look at the item if the dice are there then i roll need if not i click pass the way i see it if they give me the option to need then im gonna need it

These higher ilvl people arguably contributed more to the kill as well, or even ensured the kill happened in the first place.

Loots come and go, transmogs are forever. If I participate on a kill, and has the option to need I will need, I want for transmogs. Unless
Blizzard unlock the option to unlock all lower tiers of that same transmog when you loot a higher tier

Yes, the disconnect is that you don’t care what the system intends and I do.

And my suggestion is that if this is a common mindset - and it is - then the system needs to revert to the one where how people perceive it doesn’t matter, because it will function the same in all situations.

they need the gear. whether they need it for 5 gold or for a 50 ivl increase they still needed it for something. personal loot was a major fail and just made loot super crappy.

Lets take an extreme example to show why this is a problem

Lets say a full raid was organized and literally everyone is a plate wearer. Only me and one other person are looking for a particular drop, everyone else has far better gear in that slot. Now when it drops everyone rolls. 23 of the raiders are planning on trading the item to their friend, and then i have a 1/25 chance of getting it myself, instead of the 1/2 it should be. I’d just like a fair chance of an upgrade and everyone having the same chance, not having an increased chance because they brought backup

Which is the exact same as if they weren’t doing this, and it was a full plate raid where nobody traded anything. Players being willing to give up their chance to help a friend does not reduce your chance of winning.

Someone else deciding to trade their items to a friend after they won it has no impact on the odds of anyone else winning the item. And if you think there are too many players of a particular armor type in your pug/LFR: you’re free to leave and try your luck that the next group won’t be as stacked.

I would even argue that PL actively made the current problem with loot entitlement worse.

Your LFR can do without my 481 DK tank who can solo tank all the bosses then.

I was there
I helped with the kill
I can/will toll need one the items i que’d up for.

Deal with it.

Ps, personal loot is group loot. You just dont see the rolls.

It’s GL, but everyone is forced to always roll need on everything, every time, no matter what, and the current duplicate protection (where you can’t roll on a lower ilvl version of an item you already have), has been completely removed.

you are wasting your time complaining about it as nothing will be done , everything these days is done to slow down character progression.
pretty soon your level will be enough that you will be able to need things you dont want or need as well and you can just join the need everything club that blizz has created in LFR.

You know…. If Blizzard added a loot rule that disqualified anyone who died in the first 10 seconds of a boss fight from getting loot… I would be OK with that.

5 people die two seconds into an LFR boss and they walk away with the loot everyone else worked for….
