Ah yes. The vocal minority. That place players only come to when they have something to gripe about. What a set of data.
I’ve already seen your previous efforts here, and you are one of the new trolls.
Nice meeting you, not really though.
I feel like most people would report seeing the same thing in game. People not participating in content because of this issue and / or seeing tons of people (new friends and old) quitting because of it.
This is not just taking forum post data, it’s all over the game.
Wouldn’t the hotfix to lower Raid drop numbers pretty much confirm their intentions.
No argument, not a surprise. All I’m asking for is integrity when making claims but apparently that makes me a troll.
As I said to someone previous when this was said…
"They buffed Torghast, only a few days later to nerf it to the ground so people could complete it.
Don’t take what Blizzard has done recently to mean it is definitive / set in stone."
The question was what is Blizzard’s intent. The hotfix showed us pretty clearly what their CURRENT intent is for gear drops whether they change it later or not. We don’t need a Blue post to tell us the obvious.
Changing it later because of outcry and/or lost subs is a different story.
What would be wrong with Blizzard providing its player base a response to something that a lot of us have an issue with?
We’d just like to know if their current path is one that is worth subbing for.
I would be so much more on board with scarcer loot if something like reforging made a return. Scarce loot coupled with either duplicate or less-ideal-stat loot is a very disheartening system.
Oh, and the random quest rewards being boosted isn’t what I want to see either. Few things make me an angry adorable fox than getting a rando boosted epic spear for my MM spec.
Loot scarcity is effecting every aspect of the player experience in the game.
From the way folks approach mythic+, to keeping guildies interested in raiding, and mostly, it has been for the worse.
Certainly something this sweeping deserves at least a comment.

I agree.
There is no doubt they are fully aware of the major complaints concerning gear drops from players. However, with all the loot nerfs they have made it very clear what their intended direction is. They will never admit any decision that leads to more un-subs.
Nothing but only the most obtuse player would need it.
First we get a Hotfix to the lower the drops in Castle then a Hotfix to lower the drops in TWing Raids. Add in the already in place nerf to WQ gearing and the number of drops we get from an M+ run and it’s pretty clear what their intent for gearing is.
I mean
If the vast majority of the game is happy, what’s the problem?
Agreed. It’s been demoralizing and people are starting to quit already from my Friends list.
I don’t think they will, because not confirming gives them the freedom to change at any time without justifying why it is changed. I just feel they are testing the water, and waiting to see how it plays out.
I’d have to completely disagree. When loot rains, nobody cares if they get upgrades, and it makes the process of super-gearing alts too fast, thus landing people in the “bored” category. Without anything to keep trying for, why keep trying? My suggestion to people looking for loot is to dial back the level of m+ they do so you can star it consistently instead of pushing your max ability for a 1 star but constantly failing. Your loot drop potential doubles, just like that. If you are failing dungeons consistently2, you need to stop trying to do that level and realize you either don’t have enough gear, you are at your skill ceiling, or you are trying to carry too heavy of players.
Nothing changes for you if you have less loot. The progression you see remains the same pace regardless because your skill cap will hold you at a certain spot anyways. Average players don’t get to do mythic raiding and m+10’s in 190 ilvl gear, but that metric won’t change. Your ability to clear an m+ 10-15 isn’t handed to you by gear, as proven by the best players who cleared +15’s in what…184s? If you don’t have a lot of time to play, take 1 of your days and research what you need to be more consistently successful. This will put you at the head of your pack and help you gear quicker.
Footnotes-
- Dial back mythic + attempts to the point where you consistently star the dungeon for more loot. Failed runs are much more often a waste of 40 minutes. Also remember, that you have a 20-40% drop rate for your loot depending on if you star. That’s anywhere between 2 and 200x higher than drop rates for certain items that have existed in the game in the past.
- Stop blaming drop system when it’s your approach that’s wrong, not the system. Take a day and grind some mythics. Take people who want to win, not who are scared to go, or are only going for completion.
- On a side note to that, leaving a dungeon after a wipe is also incredibly stupid. You botch a key, burn bridges, and earn yourself a spot on people’s PBL (Personal Ban List) addon, which will keep you in the dumpster when it comes to finding good players to play with. If you ever wondered why the players you end up with are bad, this is it. Leaving keys is not punished by the game, but by the players with PBL.
I already canceled subscription. Past couple weeks running raids stuff and nothing. Ran Torghast a couple times to made all the way to lvl 18 with no issues fight boss, and during battle pet kept dropping aggro and then I’m one shot lol yup it beat me 5th time I ran last 1% on boss hes dotted up and I magically got nuked when pet dropped aggro again and said ok yeah. had like 70 buffs to so idk, and anima grind kicking my butt to.
I know, you’re probably right but I figured it was worth a shot to post this and see if it gained any traction then maybe we might get a response.
Again, probably not but thought it was worth a shot.
Welp, i sit here day after day, watching my Bnet. I see 7 people on it, but for the last 3 weeks, not a soul is playing any more! I see 5 out of the 25 that WERE on the first month only log on for reset, and a whole TWO log on for 2 raid nights.
Going by that alone, id say this xpac is a total FAIL! These are players that have played almost non stop the last 3 expansions! So the lack of people actually playing on my list is about nill now.
So yeah, id say a majority cant stand, and no longer are playing this expansion, and i use the term expansion very loosely!
When did this heroic ilvl gear rain down in BFA?
