I’m not asking for any loot. The adjustments that were made when TF and WF were removed was great, being able to target loot is fine. I think the problem seems to come from the % chance outside of the Great Vault.
It’s never a great feeling when running dungeons and spending your 20+ minutes per dungeon and in the end you get nothing. All you have to look forward to is that Great Vault on reset per week.
The developers plans, here we did the player base a favor by removing a lot of the RNG that was in BFA, BUT…Now were also going to lower the percent chance of gear dropping as well so that it would appear the gear you do manage to get is more meaningful.
I could be wrong about that and that’s fine if that’s the case, but from the various complaints I see on the forums it would seem to be the case.
Thanks Developers for listening and making adjustments to the heavy RNG that was in BFA. Also, thanks for countering the removal of most of that RNG with the lowering of Loot drop chances as well.
Now we get the once a week Great Vault to look forward too.
I basically slammed out M+ to get all the loot that I needed and now I’m at the point where I don’t get any upgrades from M+. The only upgrades I’m going to get is from the Great Vault, PvP, and Mythic raid. This is the eventuality that is going to happen for most people ingame. You work for what you want: you get it… and then you’re walled off for a weekly upgrade.
2-3 months from now mostly everyone is going to be sitting in max level great vault items.
4 pieces of gear per boss in raid for a 20 man group and adjust accordingly from there. 1/5th of the raid getting gear won’t break the system and would increase the likelihood that you don’t just get nothing but cloth or plate etc for your group.
I feel like THIS is one of the biggest issues actually. Sometimes it’s not about “not getting loot”, sometimes it’s the fact you got absolutely nothing.
At least in Legion you could 3 Chest a M+ and even if you didn’t get anything you got more Artifact Power. I’m not suggesting they bring back AP but why not bring back 3 Chesting and replace AP with Anima?
3 Chesting was a very rewarding system, not just because of the increased loot but the player perception of seeing 3 Chests… it felt great.
-Dungeons
-Mythic +
-raids
-WQ’s (sometimes)
-Chest I mean vault
So the same thing we’ve had since what? Legion?
And I placed WQ’s there and I feel I shouldn’t even plate it there, specially since it seems like the loot is literally RNG and can from the lowest ilvl possible to the highest.
This is a weak little complaint department section with the same group of people repeating their same issues over and over. Not even close to majority of player base.
Mythic Plus - Bring back the 3 Chesting System from Legion and similar drop rates / Anima scaling with amount of Chests + Keystone Level.
Raid - Roughly a 1/4 chance of getting loot based on raid size (So, 4 items for 20 man) with the ability to bonus roll on Bosses I think would be decent. Also, Anima amount scaling based on boss and raid difficulty.
I honestly dont know if it would be a fix for the problem, I would even be fine with just the return of the reroll tokens so people can atleast try to target pieces they want. I just would like something to change because I cant tell you how many times we down a boss and RL will say “Alright we have some leather x up for roll” and we get like one or two rolls or even none at all but when the trinket from sire came up for roll literally 3/4th of our raid rolled on it because some people are still running heroic dungeon trinks.
Are you asking me if I should crunch some math numbers for you to come up with an acceptable percentage as to how often players should be acquiring loot?
If so, I am fine with At least 1 (One) piece of loot per dungeon run. I have always been in favor of there being some form of bad luck in any dungeon players do. So, that if you manage to snag Nothing off all the bosses prior to the last boss of the dungeon players should get a 100% drop chance off the final boss.
The question then is should that 100% drop chance have a huge RNG tied to it or should it always award a piece of gear that’s takin from all the previous bosses in the dungeon so as to provide something useful.
I mean I am having fun with the xpac and the lack of loot has some upsides (you basically reach around ilevel 200 and can move on to other characters), but running a some M+ and regularly only getting 35 anima just doesn’t feel great.
If they want less gear loot, fine, but then make other rewards like more gold, a much bigger chunk of anima, pets, xmogs, whatever. Killing dragons should feel rewarding.
