I remember the announcement last year at Blizzcon about the great vault. They said that getting a useless item in your chest every week didn’t feel good and it would be cool if you could have some agency in what you get by being given a choice of a number of different items and everyone cheered. What it sounded like at the time was if I did a 15 key I would get a choice from 3 different items for doing that 15 key. Or if I didn’t like M+ I could kill a few raid bosses and get rewarded for that instead based on the boss difficulty I did. What we ended up with is almost a worse system. Now if we want a better chance at getting a good item (of course everyone does) then now we have to do multiple M+s a week (10) to get 3 choices. Or clear the ENTIRE raid on a specific difficulty in order to have 3 choices from that difficulty. That sucks. I didn’t even want to do my one 15 key a week through BfA, but now I’m incentivized to do 10 or more. Fun.
3 items for 20 people in an entire run…13 slots available, I run per week for each instance type (N or H).
So essentially 6 items for 20 people per week (assuming you full clear both)
At this rate that is 43 weeks…for 260 slots…
Now to be fair we do have the Great Vault and that will give you one piece per week. So if you gear just based on the GV you could get it done in 13 weeks…If the GV has no overwrap and itemization is accurate.
This means raiders will be forced to M+, and not at the +3 level. I would think a minimum of 10’s which is only 203 (plus the GV piece which is close to Heroic level).
At this point in this post I have stopped thinking about this as it won’t matter what we say. The system is bad and anyone who doesn’t see that is just addicted to this game. Like clinical addiction, not just vague addiction.
reduce loot drops
add mob health, then add some more
add long flight paths
make Choreghast take 4x longer than required
make moving around the maw super annoying
I am starting to think they had the stun/snare/slow/daze team develop this xpac
Both luckily had an upgrade from the vault this week…but how the hell are you ever supposed to improve your character if you dump numerous hours into the game without any reward?
So does any know what the loot drop per group size breakdown is? I haven’t been able to find anything other than the posts about specifically mythic is 3 pieces and this post where it says the normal/heroic “average” is supposed to be 3 pieces at 20 players.
Looking at your DH there you have 6 normal level items equipped (who knows if you had others not equipped) in 22 kills. 1 was probably from the vault, so 5.
1 heroic item in 1 kill.
No mythic+ runs.
Tbh, that doesn’t seem too bad in terms of loot for effort.
What? When was this? Because I’ve definitely ran CN on normal about 3x now and haven’t gotten a single piece. Meanwhile, others are getting something from almost every boss. The new loot system sucks, in the beginning of the expac it prioritizes high key mythic dungeons because you can spam them whilst you can only loot each raid boss and world bosses 1x a week.
I have to say, it’s fun seeing only one piece of loot drop from a boss when you have 10 people in a raid. It’s so fun getting less overall loot from a raid boss than a mythic dungeon boss.
