Nah, people should be told when they are making a bad decision. Part of living in Grown Up World is understanding that sometimes a purchase is bad even if it makes you feel good in the moment.
And for what it’s worth, I wouldn’t advocate saving up 600 bucks to go to an amusement park if you can only afford to keep $40 a week for it.

Enjoy your mount. Do as you wish and don’t worry about the naysayers. They probably have $200 sneakers, a new smartphone, $3000 dollar computers or some other purchase others would see as extravagant.
I have a 65 million old shellfish fossil that I paid a pretty penny for. It is all about what makes you happy.

I would be interested to know exactly how much of your time you spent on this, and how many max level characters you used to do it. And whether or not you bought gold or had any given to you. Being really good at playing the AH in this or any MMO is a skill, one that usually takes a lot of time and/or talent to be really good at it. Or a lot of luck. I don’t have any of those, so there’s no need to look down on people who can’t get rich in a video game like you can.
Frankly I’m just not good at making currency in any game. I do it casually. Which is how I was planning on getting this mount, and now don’t have that option.
If that’s the route you want to go then by all means have at it. A couple of warning statements are the extent of my concern if random dwarf #345 wants to waste his money because he can’t tell what a bad purchase is. 
But thats not any of your business what random dwarf does. You are inserting yourself into someones life. Not cool.
Yeh a 600$ gaming rig would prob be a better investment but i guess the hopes is enough people driven by scarcity panic dump and buy the model until a few gold inflation expacs later 5m gold 10 years down the line becomes what 5k for epic flying did in TBC.
Or you can just ignore Blizzard’s desperate attempt at a cash grab…

Secret for everybody. AH Goblins can do what they do because very few people know how to do it. If the method that AH Goblins use gets out in public, then the method crashes and it becomes useless. By it’s very nature, making large amounts of gold in the AH requires very few people doing it to make it work.
Of course, I’m sure Emra knows this, counts on it, and says things like this just to be snarky.
Unless I’m mistaken, you shouldn’t tell people what to do unless it’s your money you are giving to them and then they spend it wrongly
Should have burned down the class halls when it became clear a nerf to the class hall gold was coming in legion… I got my 5 mil by doing 13 toons class hall gold missions for 3 months. No effort way to get the money but you have to act quickly when you see a blizz gold sink on the horizon. They will nerf everything trying to get you to shell out real money.

Goldfarming is a mindset. Methods come and go with time but the real goblins can quickly find a new method to replace the old dying method.
