A minorities minority. 3% of the population. 3 whole %. 97% of the players have never seen or been able to buy a card game mount, the spider mount, none of that. Those things are for the top tier gold players, 97% of the population will never be capable of buying such a mount.
People said the same when the yaks were new, you really love being such an elitist, pathetic person.
more people will buy it now that there is “forced scarcity” which means more gold out of the economy, and means more people will buy the cool 5 mil mount next expac early, just assuming it will happen. from a economist standpoint its genius if what you want to remove gold from the system.
people that probably wouldnt have bought it ever will buy it now that they will not be able to in a year.
forced scarcity drives sales.
Once again, THAT DOES NOT MATTER.
Something bad is something bad regardless of how many people are impacted. There is no threshold where something becomes good/not good strictly based on how many people are affected.
And if we find out that every xpac from now on will have a 5 million gold AH mount, then it already defeats the point of creating that scarcity.
Otherwise it is removing a gold sink for the future.
first you need to explain how this is objectively bad.
for everyone who took the time and ground this mount out, everyone who had the gold on hand, this is a good thing. they have a prestige mount. they were rewarded for taking the time to grind that out.
Imagine taking that concept and applying it to just about any mount in the game with a special perk, such as the water striders (Which already had a trash show of its own with the mount equips), the sky golem or any multi seat / vendor mounts.
Content being removed, lol…
It’s honestly great to remove it, especially since u have over a year to get it… Makes alot of sense, gives people pride to own things others can’t get. Which is something retail WoW is lacking in so many ways in todays game.
For example, the only thing that matters on achivements is the “date” it was completed. Then again, you coulda been the most bad **** dude in legion, best gear, best titles, best mounts, but in BFA, if u are just starting out, no one cares about you or what you did in legion. That is the problem in retail WoW.
I already have, but if you care not to read the thread:
Having the Brutosaur being limited sprung on us deep into an expansion with no prior warning, or precedent, serves no purpose other than to try to take advantage of people. Whether or not those people allow themselves to be taken advantage of is entirely immaterial, the fact that Blizzard is even attempting to do so bothers me quite a bit.
I do not have an issue with things being removed from the game to serve as prestige. I do, however, have a large problem with it being done underhandedly.
Also, can people who are all “We found out a year ahead of time…” please stop. We found out because it was datamined. When would Blizzard actually have told us?
I agree with this, the way they announced it, was that someone made a thread pointing out the FOS status, and questioned it.
There wasn’t a heads up post from the Blues or anything, they just replied to the thread confirming it.
Over a year in advance isn’t exactly “sprung”. And do you really think the outrage would be any less if they told us 3 years in advance? Players would still scream and throw a fit.
You don’t think the implementation of artificial scarcity, intended to drive players to the cash shop, it one of the real issues of the game?
Blizz could literally drag their employees out for public floggings and you people would still find some way to defend it.
Absolutely cooked logic and having no understanding that the TCG mounts are tied to physical printed codes. The brutosaur mount like every other mount that exists exclusively through in game means has an unlimited supply.
I think we need more prestigious items. I don’t believe in equality in video games.
false equivalence. brut isnt those mounts. it was obviously meant to be a prestige mount. it isnt a rep grind, it isnt a drop, it isnt linked to aotc or CE.
And yet those mounts for those activities are prestige items. Checkmate
The comparison stands.
giving people a literal year to grind out the gold is hardly underhanded.
Well folks, I’m sorry to say that by the OPs logic, it’s time to delete Mythic raiding. I’m sure some of yall will miss it but since hardly anyone actually does it, it’s time for it to go.
So were the yaks and spider.
Also Blizzard never intended on letting us know it was going away, otherwise they would have announced it at the start of the expansion.
Neither were the yaks or spider.
Neither were the yaks or spider.
