Only players like me can farm 5 million in one expansion…I know I have cause I own the mount…but I am disabled retired Navy Vet I have all day and night to play unlike much of the player base…I think its a dirty rotten thing to do to the player base…

Yeah but honestly i think we can all agree this thing has Activision written all over it despite the claims that decisions Blizzard make is supposedly not in any way influenced by them
I dont buy the whole autonomy excuse not in light of decisions like this which is obviously a cash grab kind of move Activision has done several times before with loot boxes etc in their CoD series
I went back to look for the post but it’s since been removed I thought I saw it on wowhead or icy veins. It’s nothing for sure but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it was removed. I would hope not with everything people have invested in it.
Um… they did… a whole year before they’re taking it out. I don’t think the Mage tower and “you can only get the baseline appearance” was ever mentioned it was going away until around the time they talked about the Mage Tower, wasn’t it?
And I know of peeps who got millions of gold from AH manipulation, or just farming gold during Legion and WoD on their army of alts. I’m sure to some of them 5m gold was a lot less effort than some of those other achievements. So please don’t say that 5m gold is the end-all-be-all of “what’s hard” in this game.
Huh, I didn’t even know this mount existed.
Seems like a really high price though. The previous two mounts like it, the mammoth and the yak, were an amount of gold you’d probably have during the expansion anyway. Maybe I’ve just been really bad about getting gold somehow? But I’m only at 1.8 million, not 5. And I probably can’t see spending that much on a mount anyway, even if I had it.

No… it is theatrics when you make comparisons of Blizzard being “souless” and “devil-dealing”. That’s straight-up hyperbole from which you need to calm down a bit.
And of you’re allowed to complain about a game you play. I do the same thing. You can totally say you don’t like the decision, and find the action greedy, but there’s a big difference calling a move “greedy” and saying that his one action shows a company has no soul and makes deals with the devil.

There’s also a 2 mil spider in Legion, similar in terms of it being the given expac’s gold sink.
Had the achevement not been datamined or anyone asking about it they wouldnt have mentioned it.

Can you confirm or deny this rumor people keep on spreading on here. It would be very unfair to let people pay money for this mount or work towards getting it if it was true. Also, it would be unfair for people to just not use this opportunity to get it before it was gone because they believed this and it was false.

You mean they commented on an achievement on the PTR and that they’re planning on implementing? You mean, they’re actually announcing now and they didn’t have to until it’s rolled out until the Patch is actually live…
So you’re complaining that they’re actually given advance notice before it’s live, right?
Seriously, you guys are making a bigger deal out of this than it is. You have a year to start saving the gold. If you can’t do it in a year, I highly doubt you were ever going to be able to buy the mount before you quit the game.

The main difference between announcing it and admitting it after being caught is that they could have intentionally continued to hide it from players until the last minute, which would have increased fomo sales due to the fact that players would have less time to get the money.
Caught what? You act like they got caught doing something nefarious. It’s in the PTR.
Omg… all those changes on the PTR they haven’t announced yet but Wowhead continually documents. Omg… all those dataminers uncovering all these things not yet released on Live.
Omg! Blizzard didn’t blue post almost any of these. This is such a crime because they’re not actively making an announcement on every change they’re posting! The nerve of them!

There hasn’t been even an ATTEMPT at an explanation for the removal. Because they haven’t had time to forumlate the lie to cover up for “we were told to do this generate millions in Token sales”.

I’m willing to bet less than 1% of the entire World of Warcraft population has ever had 5,000,000g. Especially all at once. Yes you have people, probably like yourself, that exploited the hell out of WoD and Legion Gold missions, but that was FAR from the norm. And you’re comparing a Vendor Mount, which has never been taken out of the game before, to something that HAS been taken out of the game before. Mists Transmogs were taken out. WoD Transmogs were taken out. We knew it was coming.
This, on the other hand, is new and completely unprecedented.

Every two years we pay $50 for a new expansion and (if you are a continuous sub) another $350 in monthly fees. But apparently that $400 is no longer sufficent to expect content to remain in the game. Every expansion, they remove more and more, and now we’ve come to vendor mounts. You think it stops here??

Well, thank you Blizzard for making one of my favorite mounts in the game, nearly impossible to acquire before I’m able to save up the gold!
And no, the BMA is not going to save this. It’d be nice if you’d just…stop once in a while

Seriously, removing the long boi mount… I don’t get it.
It is like you go around looking for conflict. Decisions like these are why you have been losing players for years. I have been looking for a reason to give you the benefit of the doubt, but when you keep making decisions like these… there is just no defending you any more. And it is truly sad
