I agree it is silly but I am also the same person who wouldnt think twice about paying the same amount for exclusive pets in game or transferring a fleet of alts to a new server.
Guess it depends on your interests in game, what is silly or not. In the end, it really doesnt matter what other people spend it on though because it’s not our money.
I agree, I’m not insulting people that do it. It’s just silly. You know it is silly. You can’t blame anyone but yourself for being silly lol. There is no blame unless you decide to point the finger. In reality it’s not something worthy of blame, and if it were, the only direction to point the finger is back at your silly self
I honestly don’t ever get upset enough to speak out against bad changes on the forums but I have to say I think removing the Caravan Brutosaur is by far one of the worst things announced. I can’t imagine who possibly thought that was a good and fair idea. There’s no reason to remove a stretch goal for players looking to get one of the coolest mounts added so far.
Mounts should never be locked behind massive gold sinks like this. There are just too many of these unnecessarily high priced mounts now and this one is the worst. How about you just retire the vendors and sell the standalone brontosaurus mount for a more reasonable price like 10 000, or have it be an achievement reward, or anything else. And reduce the price of the frog mounts and exalted flying mounts while you’re at it…
Bummer. It was nice having a goal like that to eventually obtain. If the AH aspect of the mount is troublesome will they entertain a Brutosaur sans the NPCs?
Rankin, you and I are about equally cynical over this decision.
And personally, I’m getting pretty sick of the “expansion exclusive” crap they keep pulling, from “expansion exclusive” rental abilities to this new attack on mounts. Either stop treating every expansion like it’s a stand-alone game with its own “exclusive” gimmick, or stop pretending WoW is supposed to be a cohesive game and sell each expansion as its own game.
People must of missed those articles about super whales who have spent upwards on 20,000 dollars in a year on loot boxes in various games. I think they estimated gaming world wide would hit like 50 billion dollars in “gambling” style loot systems world wide by 2022. Its on the verge of the certain countries passing new laws to restrict game companies in this practice sooner or later. FIFA and Battlefront last I saw had the record of whales acting like that.
On my personal note I had hoped that subscription based games would keep this business model away for the time being, but I worry it won’t be enough.
I really don’t understand why people are upset about this change. It is a gold sink first off and it will only be more of a gold sink on the BMAH so it is doing it’s job.
Second, it will be available for another YEAR and have given everyone a heads up.
Lastly it was ALWAYS a mount for a limited audience. I wonder how many people population wise even have bought this or tried to go after it. Honestly it is for the AH players mostly and nothing more then a status symbol.
Are people really this upset at it being moved (still available) to the BMAH?
Something this expensive doesn’t function very well as a gold sink, even Ion admitted this back in Legion with the 2 million gold spider mount. If they wanted it to be a gold sink, it would have a much lower vendor amount.
We don’t know when 9.0 will go live, so people have less than a year to earn enough to buy it.
But it was never advertised as being limited to BfA. They should have said something back when the expansion started. Not with less than a year left and only after it gets pried out of them because it was datamined.
The BMAH barely counts as available. You might be lucky to see it once a month and it will most likely start at 5 million there as well.
The other items made unobtainable were not able to be obtained with a large amount of gold.
I enjoy limited time content, i do not enjoy limited time gold sinks, because there’s only one reason they would make this limited time. That is the reason they are getting almost universal backlash.
It might as well be. It’s going to be significantly less available than walking up to a vendor and just buying it.
Any limited time thing should be announced as such from the very start. They should have learned this lesson back in MoP when they waited until the expansion was nearly over to announce that the legendary cloak would be removed.
What we have here is a failure to communicate and nobody should be defending them because “there’s still a year left”. They should be taken to task for not being able to announce this earlier, or even announce it on their own instead of waiting for someone else to bring it up.
Thank you for your service. Can we please make it so the Black Markets are only accessed in areas where your toon has a 100% chance of PVP combat? Some of us that get salty with low amounts of gold would like to kill off our competition ty
Based on pattern of previous expansions it will most likely launch summer of 2020. The “By December 31st” is something they’ve done before and it’s just a save their own butts thing in case something goes wrong. Their internal time-table is NOWHERE near that date. I imagine their internal goal is early summer, but will get delayed until late summer. I really can’t see a later than September release. Especially as it’s not bringing in a new class which always messes everything up. My guess is full release in august, pre patch in july.
I get that the BMAH will limit it’s availability but honestly i wonder how many a week actually get purchased across the entire population. I would bet it isn’t that many if any in some weeks. But still i see where you are coming from.
Based on what? They and almost anything you look at change the nature of items all the time, they could have made the change and had it go live in like a couple of months, in this case they are giving people a year or so. More then enough time to deal with the change.
That was a piece of gear and no one should have thought they were going to keep it forever available, the game grows and changes. Things change. What folks should have learned from that is if you have a goal…make it happen and don’t just assume something will be around forever.
They told people a YEAR in advance, that is in no way a failure to communicate.
Why not? Because you don’t like it?
Ok, you are entitled to your opinion, i disagree but it is your opinion.
