Extremely, if we were to flash back to 2005 blizzard this would be unthinkable but Total Biscuit (RIP you legend) knew the second the stupid sparkle pony hit the market that this was the direction we were moving.

So much this! If I’d known from the start that I only had two years to earn the gold, I wouldn’t have even bothered. I wouldn’t have invested myself in a goal I knew I couldn’t obtain in the time frame given.
But we had no time frame at the start, so I thought it was just like the other expensive mounts. I realized it would take me two full expansions to get the gold, but I dedicated myself to doing it.
Now, if there had been other, non-AH models available, I would have aimed for them because I don’t really care about the AH vendor on the mount. I just wanted a sauropod mount. And Blizzard wouldn’t have to remove them out of fear that AH mounts would become common.
But that’s not how it went down, and all of this makes me very sad.

As for me, I’ve got more than enough to buy it, I’m just having a hard time justifying how much it costs and how many tokens I could buy with that gold.

Far less now than when it’ll only be available on the BMAH for max bid.
Factor in as well all the quest gold that you’ll earn leveling up each character through SL plus all the new content that you’ll opt to sell on the AH in the first six months of the new expansion to recoup your expenses!
This mindset is very strange to me. So what u are saying is spend 10 mil on a mount that should only be 5 mil because out of nowhere blizz decided to take a vendor mount out of game? Not a mount most the community knew or expects to be limited. But a vendor mount. One that many wanted and thought they could save in time to eventually get. 5 mil isn’t a small chunk of change in game. Even by today’s standards. But to make it so the community has to do things they rather not do like farm constantly for the gold is shady.
Yeah all these guys could have probably made the gold in time. Even the mythic raid guy. But some people want to do other things in game also than just mindlessly grind gold for a mount they thought they could get in time.
U want people to have the gold saved for next xpac and also recover some of what they spend on it by first 6 months? Again doesn’t make sense. They will get caught in a bad loop of forever trying to catch up for the new cool gold sink stuff. And eventually it will burn people out from trying to acquire all this stuff. Take it from a guy that is addicted to collecting stuff on this game. My achieves and mounts, toys and pets speak for themselves. The game was addictive before. But when they started putting things in such as achieves and tmog accountwide mount accessibility it heightened that. Now we can farm all these mount drops on the armies of toons we spent time leveling also.
I get unobtainable things that are rare. But a vendor mount should never be. Especially the way they did it. It never was announced like it should have been. People found out through the grape vine. A blue had to make a vague post. Then just recently more of an official word.

Because not everyone grinds gold like it’s the only thing which is fun in their life.
You have many categories:
- People who are 24x7 in AH
- People who love the AH but want to play the game too
- People who love the concept of posting from anywhere but aren’t as inclined to spend their 15 dollar sub no lifing their way to this.
Your view is pretty narrow minded as you expect everyone to think “Hey grinding gold is so fun. Let me get up the next day and do it for the next few months instead of doing this other fun thing in the game because…Fear of Missing out”.

Yes, it’s bought off a vendor.
The mammoth & yak are vendor mounts and are far cheaper to acquire. And you’re absolutely right in that Blizzard should have been more forthcoming in their communications about the removal of the Brutosaur. It shouldn’t have been datamined the way that it was.
You’re taking my words out of context.
By your viewpoint, i can say to the M+ folk that they’re “no-lifing it” as they’re running keys everyday constantly increasing their key to get it higher and higher, and getting their rio score better too, at the expense of everything else. No, they just made that their focus and priority.
If the Brutosaur is your target, so too you’ll throttle your impulse buying and’ll devote some (or all) of your time to some of the gold farms, perhaps buy & sell some BoEs (it’s a risky market unless you have enough capital), and auction stacks of herbs or craft gear and flasks to auction daily!
They’ve all had a year to do something about saving up and grinding / earning gold, and those that didn’t are now panicking, worrying and complaining that there’s not enough time left before SL and that it’s not fair.
It’s all about setting your priorities on what to do with your game time.
It is a vendor mount, unless you know of a boss that drops it or an achievement that awards it. Assuming people have started believing forum-goers who are telling them that Blizzard is going to remove a gold-sink mount from its vendor, something Blizzard has never done before, without Blizzard announcing it at all, they’ve had some time. Not a full year, this thread isn’t even a full year old yet! There are going to be people caught flat-footed on this because they’re waiting for Blizzard to tell them and Blizzard still. hasn’t.

Wow, that went way over your head. The point was, no vendor mount has ever been removed before.
Also, in case it needs to be made kindergarten-clear, we are calling it a VENDOR mount not because it has a vendor on it, which it does along with the AH, but because the only way to get it is to buy it from a vendor. It will never drop from a boss, never pop out of a chest, never be something you can grind rep or a huge achievement for. It is BOUGHT. from a VENDOR.

Did u just say it’s not a vendor mount? Where did u get it from if not a vendor? I bought mine like 5 months ago from a vendor. Did u find another place in game to get it? That’s wild. And u are missing the point completely also. If blizz wanted this out of game and didn’t want to make quick token sales they would have mentioned it was exclusive to get from this xpac at the start. But guess what that would have done? Probably make people quit this game because they wouldn’t want to grind just gold instead of content playing wow. Yeah they have had a year to make 5 mil gold. Yeah there are tons of grind spots that have popped up all over the map. Why? Because now people need to grind that gold quick if they don’t want to spend a thousand dollars on Tokens
A vendor mount is a mount from a vendor. So…just to reiterate. Removing a mount from a vendor, for the first time ever, especially this particular one, sets a terrible precedent.
Also just fyi, so we’re on the same page (unless you’re just trying to troll), mounts with vendor on them are commonly called repair mounts.

Trying to debate with these type of mindsets like the hunter over the internet gets u nowhere man. This person has an opinion. And though their opinion is way out there and in the lower bracket of most the community. It’s still their opinion. I just say get the mount people if u want. Sucks blizz did this. But they are a company that wants money. No more. And they will always have people that back that because they just want to seem I guess included or something
