I dunno about Thrall, but on Area 52 there aren’t many around, or I haven’t noticed more just hanging out than in the past. Honestly, I think sometimes people see what they’re looking for. Kind of the “self fulfilling prophesy” thing. If you expect to see more you will.
I don’t look for them so I probably just don’t notice. I’ve maybe seen 5 all week, and 2 of those were guildmates who brought them out because they were requested.
I just don’t think people are out buying these things in droves like this thread would suggest.

I agree people aren’t “buying these things in droves” but the thread has never suggested such a thing. The thread is about them becoming unavailable and people’s opinions on that fact. A few posters have suggested the removal is a strategy to spur token sales, but that’s not what the thread is about.
I have definitely seen more of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaurs lately than earlier in the expansion, but I think that’s entirely due to what Nobully said earlier: the longer a thing exists, the more people will have it.

Well then, we reached the point of “It’s been out long enough that there are a lot of them” very, very suddenly. I wasn’t seeing this many two months ago. Unless all the “stay home doing nothing” led to more players building gold at the same time
I know what the thread is about. Thanks though.
A big difference. Keeping rare items rare isn’t a bad thing. Everyone doesn’t deserve what everyone else has.
How is something you BUY that could be left in the game forever “rare”? Sorry, don’t see it.

Because removing it from the vendor makes it harder for the masses to buy. It’ll be on the BMAH but that means the masses won’t always have the chance to buy it.
Removing it from the vendor keeps it rare.
Artificial rarity is never a good approach.

We’re all welcome to have our own opinions, good or bad.
Why remove it from the vendor though? No gold sink, much less no mount, has ever been removed from a vendor before. Do you think it would be good practice to start moving all vendor mounts to the BMAH after every expac?

Yes, actually. If they are going to continue with gold sink mounts then I think that’s a good idea.

The Brutosaur is not a “gold sink mount”. They said this before with the spider, if they really wanted to pull gold out of the economy, they would price it much lower so many more people would buy it.

That’s a really random person to picture me with. Did she like to keep rare things rare too?

how does it feel to have a post reach 100,000 views?

Most of them will be from the same handful of people. All of these “mega-threads” end up being the same 3 to 7 players posting in them keeping them alive. As humans we like to think that something that is important to us is just as important to masses of other people, even though the masses couldn’t care less about what we hold dear.
How do you like being the top poster in this thread?
I realize it’s a little tough to have the contrary opinion in a thread like this, so you do have to post more often than the rest of us. But I’m not far behind you! (Only trailing by about 105 posts!)
Edit to stay on topic: Blizz, please put a non-AH version of the Brutosaur on the vendors if you insist on removing the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur. Thanks!

I’m curious why this panda talks so much about the rarity of the mount then says it doesn’t matter to most. It was a vendor mount from start: they should have left it in. If it was really going to be a hard mount to achieve they should have let the community know. It still really isn’t a hard mount to achieve. It currently costs what? 900 bucks us cash? Lol

The fact they say most people will never see 5 mil gold, then try to say that if it was left in it would be super common is also laughable.
