Okay, Brahmina…. I can’t wait any longer: how’s the new piano!?! <3
It’s great! I mean, it’s no Steinway, but it’s a good fit for my current (very novice) skills.
I’ve been practicing at least an hour every day (plus an hour or two on my sax and clarinet). Yeah, not much time left for WoW now that I’ve gotten back into music. I lay the blame on a couple of violinists who are always telling me to practice.
Edit: That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t find more time if I felt something in Wow was worth it–like raising the gold to buy a non-AH version of the brutosaur (hint hint).
Taking a break from piano practice to remind Blizz that it would be really really really really cool of them to give us another Brutosaur (without the AH vendor) to shoot for when the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur is removed from the vendors.
It’s mine. Yay.
These things are always so anti-climactic, though. For me, anyway.
Buy brutosaur. /Cheer. Run around jumping and /mounspecialing for two, three minutes. It looks great.
Do planned bank toon move from Silvermoon city -> Area 52, because scenery change. Stay there for one day. Meh.
Back to Silvermoon. And my mount count went +1.
That was my point though - If you set your goal as to do nothing but make gold, you can make quite a lot of it. Not as much as a multi-boxing druid in Voldun, but a lot. What if you do not want to spend every waking minute making gold though? What if you like to PVP, or are an altaholic? It just forces you to make a choice between playing the game or turning it into a chore.
Don’t get me wrong people, no one said it wasn’t doable. The point of the post, for those who missed it, is this: There is too much to do with a max level character to remain viable in M+ etc.: ranking up cloak, dailies for new factions etc., to do that AND spend hours per day for the next few months farming gold (without being a multi-boxer or otherwise pro gold farmer). It is forcing people to make a choice between playing for fun or doing a chore that, if people had known it was going to disappear (unlike tundra mammoth and yak), they could have split the farming and saving up over the life of the expansion. Springing it on people at the end like this is an eff you to even above average players in terms of play time.
fixt for you
I guess Blizzard thinks the brutosaur is only for players who have nothing else to do with their time but acquire gold.
I am a very casual player who usually spent an hour or two a day on WoW. I really planned to get this mount and had worked out how long it would take me based on my playstyle and rate of gold acquisition. I estimated I would have the needed amount by the end of the next expansion, which seemed very doable to me. I didn’t really care about the AH feature, I just wanted a nice sauropod mount.
Well, ever since Blizzard dropped a bomb on my goals, I’ve pretty much stopped playing at all. I never realized how much I had invested in getting this mount. After all, there are a lot of other things I can do in the game with the time I have to play. Having my dreams dashed like that though…
If I’d known from the start that the mount would be limited to this expansion only, I wouldn’t have put my eggs in that basket. There are lots of things in WoW I’ll never get, but they’re all things I’ve always known I won’t have. To plan on something and be working toward it, only to have it snatched away for no reason, is one of the worst feelings ever.
Now I spend most of my WOW time doing more practice on my instruments. At least I know I’m actually accomplishing something.
Sadly, if I had known it would have been limited to this expac, I probably could have had it by now. I didnt start prioritising gold making until a month before 8.3, and over the course of the expac I’ve had 3 mil gold. If I had saved it all and started making gold sooner I would have it. That said, I’m back up to 1 mil.
That’s not too shabby. If you had the time to work on making gold, you could probably get the 5 mil before the deadline. I know I theoretically could get enough gold myself, but I have a lot of better things to do with my time (like make real money).
Because they retired? You think people just work until the day they die if they have money for retirement? They want to enjoy life too.
My lord.
Yea, unfortunately my main money maker is drying up more and more the farther into 8.3 we go. We’ll see how close I can get though.
I’m rooting for you!
Greedy stinkers. Why take it out? There’s no reason but greed.
100% you could leave it in and then we could all have a fun auctioneer mount in two xpacs. Is it because you can’t code it in or something? Will this break WoW? Because I don’t think so - as far as I know, the auction house is a separate entity from the auctioneers.
Still, I support an achievement for the people who get it in 8.3, that’s just awesome.
I’ll still protest against Blizzard for removal of this mount…its a slap in the face of the player base…its not right. No other high price mount has ever been removed from game…we still have the Yak and Mammoth…at their time frame in game were high gold prices and with rep for one …the NR one.
What kind of shots you guys wanna take?
I don’t have to take any shots I have had this mount since Day 1 of BfA going live…its just wrong to removed this mount just cause they feel like it…they never removed those other high price mounts from NR and or MoP…they are still in game. I am backing all player base that would like to still get the mount even after SL goes live.
If you guys keep complaining I will go and buy it with wow tokens! I DARE YOU!
No, I dare YOU!
(Actually, don’t waste real money on this thing. Please. That’s worse than wasting time gathering gold for it.)
