Somehow mobile AH is less OP than water walking (which was still obtainable in the game btw).
And the presidency is easily obtained too with lots of money, and russsian friends.
It could be he just came here looking for a fight after arguing with me in a multiboxing thread. There’s no point in worrying when someone is so determined to keep taking offense.
Because the necessity to have it to do anything.
And the reason why straight low cost gold mounts are not prestigious is not entirely from everyone having the mount, but rather the overabundance (number and recolors) of mounts in the game at this point. A good extreme version of this are battle pets. Out of the over what 1500+ battle pets, how many of them are absolutely necessary for a person just wanting to get rep from WQs/dailies? Almost all the pets are worthless because there are too many of them, not because everyone has them.
Prestige, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
Personally I see nothing prestigious in anything bought. If someone buys something in-game I hope it makes them happy.
My friend’s challenge mode Phoenixes, on the other hand, I see as prestigious, because I watched the effort he and his guildies put into increasing their skills to beat those timers. That was hard for that bunch, and they were sure a skilled group by the time they got the achievement.
Excuse me? I’ve never bought any in-game mounts through tokens. It’s not even remotely MY fault.
Then of course that doesn’t refer to you, Brahmina.
Players did not create tokens.
Players did not create the ability to use gold, via tokens, to buy goods and services.
Blizzard created tokens.
Blizzard creates a demand for them buy dangling expensive carrots in front of players and restricting the ability to gain such large amounts of gold through quests and mission tables.
Your argument makes as much sense as blaming people with a gambling problem for casinos, and blaming whales for the many games set up to bait them. It’s called preying on the weak, and there will always be those who are weak in various areas.
And no, I neither buy tokens with cash nor gamble.
Owning a car is not a necessity, especially in an age where public transportation is fairly common.
Owning a car is a convenience.
Lets be honest here, players were buying gold from gold farmers for years before the token was even considered.
yeah, because the markets for stuff like the card game mounts wasn’t a thing.
Sure gold farmers were a thing, and then, as I said to a poster discussing tokens, Blizzard created tokens. “Why” is irrelevant to the discussion.
And who created the Warcraft card game and enabled the use of items from cards in WoW?
Blizzard didn’t make the thousands and thousands of dollars off each of the mounts being sold, they simply sold limited print packs of cards. lol
That’s nice dear, but irrelevant.
Absolutely, casinos would exist without any gamblers to support the cost of business…definitely.
Name one race track where the horses would run without any bets, go ahead.
You know how much those horses cost? How much those animals are worth?
Literal millions of dollars, and they make far more than their price tag, thanks to people with zero self control.
If gamblers stopped betting, those horses would be on their way to the glue factory before you could say Brutosaur.
If players stopped buying tokens, the tokens would likewise go away.
So, we can sit here and talk about how none of us buy tokens, but somebody is lying.
It’s very relevant to your point, it just doesn’t fit your narrative so you’re dismissing it.
This mount was never intended for the average player anyway. And if the first thing you think of when talking about large sums of gold is tokens, then this mount was surely not intended for you. This mount was directed at the very wealthy players, just like Lamborghinis aren’t intended for the average American.
Yet it is because tokens give gold, some of the fastest gold in a limited time frame, and the mount is now a limited time.
It was not me who turned the conversation to tokens. I bought the brutosaur with gold as soon as it became available. My in-game hobby produces all the gold I can use. I buy tokens with gold and would not dream of spending my own cash on this game.
However despite being a “wealthy” player I do not regard the brutosaur as prestigious, and have never had players express admiration for me when mounted on one. Any “prestige” is in your own mind, and that’s very nice if it makes you feel fulfilled and happy.
Wealth in a game says nothing about a person’s character or the contribution they make to the lives of others.
“Public transportation exists. And since it is public that means next to everyone has it. And since it exists that must mean that it goes to most places that most people want to go reach.”
Just stop with your low brow inductive logic. It seriously ruins any thread you join. Lastly yes cars are a necessity, Stop believing that your city is the norm for everywhere. Try getting anywhere across a major city in Texas in reasonable time.
I live 30 miles from the closest grocery store. There is nothing between me and town but cows and antelope. (Well, there are other things like elk, bighorn sheep, all kinds of birds, etc., but it’s mostly the cattle.)
Living in a city with public transportation is a “convenience”. Owning a motor vehicle where I live (preferably with 4WD) is not.
But hey, thanks for continuing to keep the thread alive!
And, Blizz, PLEASE don’t take our Brutosuars away!
Good Lord this still going? How’s the rebellion going?
