Looks Like the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur might Be Unobtainable In 9.0.1 (Part 1)

I’m happy for you that you got what you wanted.

If a player really needs to constantly check their auctions, they can always make an AH alt who stays by the AH–and doesn’t cost 5 million gold. I don’t see how this is a disadvantage.

While I’m glad that the AH moguls that needed a mobile AH got their mounts, those of us who only want a Brutosaur mount are the ones getting the stick here. The only option we were given was an AH mount for 5mil, take it or leave it. As unfair as this was, I made a plan to earn the necessary gold. Now I feel I’m being punished and having the mount removed from the vendor because of a feature I never really wanted in the first place.

Make this right, Blizz. Give us a non-AH Brutosaur mount we can buy from the vendors.

I don’t know, I think everyone should a fair way of getting that mount, Not everyone knows how to make gold in game to that extent, and people that will play later will never have a chance at it, Kinda makes you wonder why not allot of new people play wow.

My personal preference is for them to leave the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur alone, period. Let players raise the gold over time, or not. Is it really game breaking if a lot of players have the MCB 15 years from now?

HOWEVER

I doubt Blizz will reverse their stance on this. Their “reason” smells fishy to me, but that’s the reason they’ve given, so…okay. They don’t want AH mounts to be common. Fine. Give us a non-AH Brutosaur to buy from the vendors. It’s a reasonable request since it doesn’t interfere with their stated purpose in removing the MCB, and they already have numerous other models available in the data base.

Once again, just restating that if we can’t keep the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur on the vendors, at least let us have a non-AH model in its place. Thank you.

You talking about Maple Story? That game became terrible for the p2w part.

Nope, there are a lot of p2w games that people will spend thousands on.

I gotcha. That was the only one that popped in my head since I did play it for a little bit back in like 04.

According to wowhead this mount was listed at 3% of accounts having obtained the mount as of the creation of this thread last November, as of 30 seconds ago the mount is still listed as being obtained by 3% of accounts. Very few players have bought tokens to buy this mount. This was a foolish conspiracy theory by players. I have this thread bookmarked just so i can remember to go back and see if it can even reach 4% by the time it’s removed from the vendor and placed on the BMAH.

This mount was never intended for the general population to be able to obtain. This mount was intended for the very wealthy.

In that case there should be no reason for it’s removal from the vendor.

Before we know it 5 million gold won’t be a rare thing for very casual players to have, so yeah, it needed to be removed from the vendor before everyone was riding one. 5k used to be a lot of gold, now you can make them within mins.

Really? 5 mil was a rare thing for a very casual player to have in WoD, and gold making in that expac was completely broken. They won’t make that mistake again, so I fail to see how you can even attempt to make this argument.

I don’t understand the feeling of prestige some players seem to get from owning rare showy items. - Well, if I had the phoenix mounts from Pandara I’d be pretty proud, but they took actual skill to acquire, not just a load of gold or cash spent.

Anyone can make loads of gold - at the START of an expansion - if they are not progression raiding and so are not spending all their time leveling and gearing their main and spares so they can help their guild do the “elite” stuff.

At this stage of an expansion 5 million gold is something you’re unlikely to get without doing carries, and only a few players are in a position to do these.

I see players recommending life-destroying routines of farming old raids, always underestimating the time this involves, but no-one with a job or family can do the amount required.

I see other players recommending selling herbs or potions or crafted gear, but the demand for these is temporary, and the successful guilds provide these free for their own members. What’s more, trying to sell anything in quantity quickly tanks the market, so there is always a limit to what you can sell for a reasonable profit.

I bought the Brutosaur as soon as it became available, and I’d love to see the price reduced so everyone here who wanted one could get it. But then my feelings of self worth come from what I do, and have done, in the real world, not from playing an ephemeral, time-wasting game designed for teens.

Wowhead only tracks people who use the Wowhead client. So you have to both use the Wowhead client and own the mount in order for them to track it.

Further, all you’re doing is arguing that the mount should stay right where it’s at if you’re so convinced that it will stay rare anyway.

They’d need to have quests and mobs that give tens of thousands of gold in order for 5 million to become reachable by the average player. I’m willing to bet that the average player is sitting around 10k gold.

I’m certain it won’t (unless more players quit during this patch than I expect).

I don’t think it’s special or prestigious to have a mount that costs a lot of gold. It’s just a mount that costs a lot of gold. While I agree that lots of players aren’t lining up to buy this guy with tokens, you can’t say that no one has done so or that no one else will. The fact exists that you can buy it with actual cash (through tokens) if you want.

But Blizzard themselves said the reason they’re removing it from the vendors is because of the AH on it, not because it’s supposed to be “prestigious.” They just don’t want to see a lot of AH mounts running around in the future.

Your continual ranting about “exclusive” and “prestigious” items in a video game makes you sound kind of, I dunno, needy. Like anyone besides yourself really looks at someone on the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur and thinks, “Wow! What an exclusive and prestigious mount! I am in awe of that player!” What they’re really thinking is, “Hold still while I check my auctions,” or “Get off the mailbox you twit!”

As disappointed as I am with the decision to remove the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur from the vendors, I’ll be even more let down if a non-AH Brutosaur isn’t put in its place. It’s a reasonable compromise that will make the majority of mount collectors happy without impacting Blizzard’s concern about too many AH mounts running around in the future.

I was thinking earlier of some things I need that would cost less than the number of tokens it would take to get this mount. I could buy a new saddle pad, plus new muck boots and new riding boots, and still have money left over. Yeah, there’s no way I’m going to use tokens to get this. If I can’t raise the gold in game (and it’s not looking good right now) I’m not getting the mount.

The best part is they probably intentionally knew they would remove it, so they made it a big fat mailbox blocker to later claim they didn’t want them running around all over.

I’m not going to stay subscribed for the next 9 to 10 months solely so that I can grind gold 2 to 3 hours per day instead of playing the current content just because you decided halfway through the expansion that you were going to remove this mount. Actually, I’m going to stop my subscription to spite Blizzard because of this shoddy decision. Vote with your wallet and be sure to list this reason when you unsub.

Whaling is how video game companies make the big bux these days, individuals spending far more than the sub price to get store mounts adds up fast, alot faster than people like me who only ever have a sub, and don’t give blizz money for MTX.

Wow will end up running in life support on the backs of store mounts in the end.
