I agree fully with Eremel.
I’m resigned to the removal of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur from the vendors. I’m not the least bit pleased about it. The camel’s back is becoming weaker and weaker. Adding a new brutosaur mount or two (ones without the AH) would go a long way toward shoring up the poor camel.
The models already exist in the data base. Replacing the MCB with plain versions wouldn’t be any harder than removing it in the first place. There is no reason not to give us another brutosaur to aim for.
Just because folks are busy with the holidays is no reason to assume they’ve stopped caring about this issue. Also, many people still have no idea this change is happening. Without an official announcement on the launcher, lots of folks are going to be caught by surprise when this change happens.
Blizz, please make a launcher announcement about the removal of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur from the vendors. Even better, announce that a plain (non-AH) version will be put on the vendors in its place. That way your reasoning for removing the MCB (too many AH mounts in the “future”) will make more sense.
The best thing they can do tbh. I have been spending time making gold instead of doing what I want because of this. Sigh.
i’m in the same boat, will be my main focus after the holidays. i mine minerals so that and buying the occasional token to sell is the only real way i can make gold at this point
Posting because this change still needs to be formally announced where all players can be made aware of it.
Also posting to reassert the call for non-AH models to be put on the vendors. Since the mobile AH is the stated reason for the mount’s removal…
…there is no reason not to release other models for players to work toward. The models already exist in the data base. There would be little to no extra work involved in putting one or two on the vendor.
Giving players goals is always a good thing. Taking away goals only ticks people off.
I’ve pretty much given up on this. I tried the grind, but the AH economy is dead on my server. Everyone is selling and no one is buying (probably for the same reason as me). It honestly made the game less fun to be bothered with this mess. Adding a whole other level of stress to what is supposed to be a fun experience.
Will it make me quit wow? Probably not, but it has burned me out to the capacity of not playing this past month. Will I play 7.3? Yea, but to what amount is to be determined because of said burnout.
ATM I’m just trying new games and having fun exploring new worlds. Those that do try for this, I wish them the best of luck. I hate the decision to rip this away from players without a heads up at the beginning of the expansion, but I refuse to spastically grind anymore for my own health.
I’ve got a job, a family to support, and a whole slew of anxiety issues. I don’t need this on my plate.
Honestly I won’t spend the gold to get the Brutosaur but really why would you remove it from the vendor? Is by remaining there going to conflict with game design or mechanics or such?
This baffles me there are a lot of people that are going to want the mount and I really think it is stupid to slave it to one expansion. Now when new people come to play wow they see these Brutosuars and ask oooh where can I get that and to be told, “you can’t, you should have played BFA”
He says in a later post that they don’t want to see Auction House mounts become as common as repair mounts.
This reasoning seems forced, but it’s the reason they’ve given us. As such, it doesn’t preclude putting a plain, non-AH version on the vendors when the MCB is moved to the BMAH. Other models were datamined before BfA even went live, so we know they exist in the database.
I really just wanted a sauropod mount of some kind. The MCB was the only one available. It would be a show of good faith to at least replace the AH model with a non-AH model on the vendors. That would give players like myself a chance to continue working toward something we’ve been working for this entire expansion.
Allowing players to set and achieve long-term goals keeps them subscribed. Removing goals makes them quit. Blizzard needs to stop removing things and to continue adding reasons to keep playing.
The announcement would have to be in huge bold text for anyone to pay attention to it. I got a good guess most players cant remember what they saw on the launcher from one day to the next.
That’s fine. Maybe even write it in flashing neon. There should be pictures, too.
The thing is, if removing the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur from the vendors was truly good for the game, why be afraid of letting players know about it? Why let it leak out in a data mine? Why have the only official response here in the General Discussion forum, where the majority of players never step?
The best way to avoid creating PR disasters is to be upfront and open with any and all changes to the game. In this particular instance, it would also help if a replacement brutosaur (or two) took the MCB’s place on the vendors. Retire the MCB and its AH vendor to the BMAH if truly necessary, but give players another brutosaur mount to shoot for. That would go a long way toward mitigating the ire of those who’ve been saving up for the mount at their own pace.
Completely agree. I wish Blizzard would do the right thing; acknowledge the player discontent, their mishandling of the communication, and revert the plan to remove the mount from the vendors.
I don’t want to settle for less.
Welp. I got mine thanks to lots of help from friends and family whom knew how bad I was looking forward to the mount.
Still think the move from blizzard was absolute crap. I hope they rethink and add vendorless skins for 2-3mil to replace it at least. Most of us upset didn’t give a single care for the AH vendor but just wanted it for the dinosaur.
If you’re going to reskin and add more bee mounts blizz, you can add a few vendorless bruto’s. C’mon.
Congrats! I’m glad to see some folks are managing to get the mount before it essentially goes away. I know I don’t stand a chance of scraping up the lucre, but I keep working at it anyway. Maybe Blizz will show some mercy and at least give us a non-AH model on the vendor.
As frustrated as I’ve been with BFA, this decision has contributed to a dread of Shadowlands releasing, and has been a significant contributing factor to my not having pre-ordered yet.
I’m just here looking for confirmation that the AH vendor is staying on the mount if i do buy it. I’ve read a couple posts that seemed to indicate that it was going to be replaced. Does anyone know the real story??
The AH NPC is not being removed or changed:
Thanks!! Now i have something to buy right before the Shadowlands Pathfinder intermission.
To be fair, it’s not being removed or changed yet.
Isn’t “we’ll never remove the AH vendor”.
So we’re going to give a tiny handful of players a large amount of control of the game’s economy in perpetuity. I’m sure that won’t ever leave new players priced out of essential goods.
