You can do them on alts. Sure will take a lot of time. But old raids and paragon caches can pay well over the time. That or selling herbs/pots/flask is pretty easy if youre not good at the ah. Another good way is to sell carries if you’re good at something. But playing the ah overall is still pays the most.
TCG mounts have been extremely rare compared to something you can just walk up to a vendor and buy.
Did she get the 5k?
Just doing the raids alone on one character a week? No, you are right, that wouldn’t cut it. Not by a long shot.
However, supplementing them with some basic AH play might do the trick.
Titan Panel showed when I was done that I was making ~4k/hr (Mind you, I am a Paladin going at the speed of slow) which calculated out to somewhere in the ballpark of 1.2k Hours or ~50 days played time of pure farming old raids under the assumption you have enough 120’s who can do them… which is just dreadful sounding but probably doable with enough characters and if you have enough time (which most people don’t)
Playing the AH is going to be the best course and its certainly not for everyone
In all honesty, I feel like its possible for a lot of people, however I also hope that Blizzard changes their mind on this one.
I’d never get it. Better things to do with 5m. The basis of my issue is the precedent that’s being more commonly used.
We’ve already lost quest chains that defined expansions. We’ve lost traits on items we earned. Now some people are losing a possible long term goal.
How long until other things are removed for the hostage content? How long until everything that’s not current content is gone? The squish will already make the old world one and done. No need to see any of the other expansions, but the one you pick, so what is the life expectancy of goals within them? Old legendaries, mogs, reps (and the rewards from them), and anything else they decide people “should have played at that time if you wanted it”.
When you don’t say anything about [Item A] being removed, then [Item B] is gone, and before you can do anything you’re looking at only [Item Z] asking yourself when it’s time will come.
Better roll all the allied race alts you might want. Who knows when you’ll be unable to make a new one. “Should have played in that expansion and finished it while current”…
So the average time per raid is about 30 minutes + travel time. So todo all the raids you’re looking at 8 hours a week per toon.
So huuurgh my heart is dieing at the grind.
I heard she got 10k actually.
Ugh, you and me both. Which is why I am looking at other avenues with crafting and playing the AH. There is a “Goblin” on my server that I am hoping won’t make this too rough for me.
yah unfortunately I’m alliance and don’t have a goblin to reduce cost. ugh my heart and eyes are going to bleed.
You can buy any of them that you want right now if you have the gold, there are plenty of sellers that can sell on any server you have the gold on. Those players have been around for many, many years doing this. They’re the top 3% who own stuff like all TCG mounts, pets, and mounts like the 5 million gold Bruto.
Wrong Goblin. I meant an AH tycoon who has a pretty tight grasp on my server’s economy. Joys of a smaller server group and smaller market
Quick note on those TCG mounts. Several are now available due to blizzcon releasing the Time Walkers chests. So several of those about if you want a cheaper than was pre-blizzcon ones.
If you’re on the right server and if they have what you want for sale. It’s been six years since the TCG shut down and even with the BMAH there’s hardly any “new” mounts coming into the economy.
No, that’s not how it works. They can and will go to you if you have the gold and they still only have a code to redeem and not the actual mount itself from the vendor. If you have the gold they can and will even xfer to your server with the mount on their character, you better have the gold for the cost. But if you’re buying a top tier mount like that the gold isn’t an issue.
And there are still more than enough that hasn’t been bought. Do you know why they haven’t been bought?
Because only the top 3% players can afford to buy them and it really messed the mount sellers up when mounts became account-wide.
See if they’re open to a partnership/apprenticeship until you get the mount. I had a guy that was a major AH player that would bring me gems, I’d cut them, and he’d play the AH. I just happened to have all the gem cuts except one. He bought it (like 10k at the time), gave it to me, and we went into business. I made a TON of gold just sitting there cutting his gems.
You never know. That tycoon could be looking for someone to do X and you like doing X!
Sure it is. You can probably make 5 million within a month of 8.3 hitting if you are even half decent at making gold and put in a little effort.
That is what that mount is for though, people who have put in a little effort to making gold over a period of time.
Some of them are even more expensive than the Brutosaur, that might have something to do with their rarity.
And you seem to be arguing that the Brutosaur will maintain it’s rarity if the TCG mounts are still rare after all these years. Which further highlights the non-necessity of removing the mount from the vendors.
if you don’t have something more specific to suggest then saying to someone “you just gotta do better” isn’t helpful.
It’s a bit like telling someone who lives in a 3rd world country, if you work harder things will get better. It doesn’t. They work hard and die early cause their environment is setup such that they die horrible early deaths due to malnutrition and exhaustion.
I’m off tangent, but working hard doesn’t always result in anything.
For most people it results in a life of crap where they tell themselves it’s a good life even though it’s a pretty crappy one.
Every time it feels like, “Wow, they finally get it, they’re finally listening and the old Blizzard is coming back,” they seem to follow up by doing something crappy just for the sake of it. It’s like they can’t help but snatch defeat from the jaws of victory every…single…time.
You asked if it was achieveable and I said yes.
There is all kinds of information out there on how to make gold but the best one is actually have the desire and thinking about what the market on your server needs.
