…People being able to commit to the auction game hard enough to afford the mount doesn’t stop the whole artificial scarcity problem from being scummy.
Pretty sure everyone realizes that other people have the mount, it’s always hilarious to me how worthless and weak these retorts tend to be from the Pro-Blizz side.

That would make sense if you had to get all the gold from BfA, and that means that if you got gold through the AH, the players you got it from had to have gotten that gold from BfA as well. But we all know that’s not true. You got gold from Warlords of Draenor alt character gold farms. Even if you didn’t get your gold that way directly, you made your gold from players who did that buying stuff from you on the AH.
So, don’t pretend this is some magical “Oh, you earned it in BfA” crap. It’s not.

eh, to be honest, I don’t care for the mount, I mean the AH feature is nice, but 5 million gold for that?. eh, I was in no rush to make gold for it.

Things like this and the raf are actually make an arguable case for the in game shop to expand.
Every item like this is only available for hundreds of dollars as opposed to mini purchases in other games for transmog and such. Makes you wonder if they are doing these things to make people beg for a true in game shop.
I’d be sad to see that happen but it’s odd that every one of these things is just out of the “pay up for special things” and instead part of different program like raf or an achievement.
Thus opponents of in game purchases can’t say it’s necessarily micro transactions. What we have are megatransactions.
They want to take a huge chunk out of everyones bank roll

Yeah, because like I’ve said in a dozen other threads. The auction house component is worthless. Anyone who plays the auction house seriously uses bank alts for it so they dont need to leave the area on their main with a portable mailbox.
Nobody is going to justify dropping 5m just to avoid logging on another toon, looting mail and auctioning it. It’s literally just to flaunt how much wealth you have.
You have seriously no idea the amount of time it took to get that gold. If it was as simple as you make it, did you get the mount? Why didn’t everyone get it?

Stating that it’s possible to accomplish completely misses the point. No other gold sink mount has ever been removed from it’s vendor like this, and they’re is no reason for it to happen. It is painfully obvious that Blizzard is only trying to create an artificial FOMO situation to push token sales.

I am pretty sure justifying to yourself that spending $500 for something you don’t even own in a game would be a challenge.
It certainly would for most people.
I’m only referencing how you mentioned obtaining the mount is a “challenge” and that the odd person who spends money to get the same outcome, doesn’t change that.
And I’m arguing it absolutely does change it.
Then mythic raiding isn’t a challenge either because people can buy gold with real money and pay for carries.
