When did made tower come out and when did blizz confirm the skins tied to it and that they were limited time? I know it was the tomb patch but can’t remember if that was roughly halfway through legion like this brutosaur announcement. Also, once again - its not going away, just being shifted to BMAH.
The mage tower came out in 7.2 and was announced right away with it that it would be going away. Completely different man. Stop reaching
It’s upsetting. I had figured I could make the brutosaur a long-term goal since I don’t actively play the AH and make money other than to buy tokens for game time. All this does for someone like me is make me feel pressured to shift my focus into making gold rather than playing the game how I’d like to due to fear of missing out.
That’s really all that this is - just a FOMO tactic.
How is that different than pvp mounts each season? I love some of those mounts but never got them as I dislike pvp.
Finally playing the AH for 8 hours a day pays off. This mount being locked out to casual plebeians after this xpac is a god send. It just further asserts my dominance as an elite member of society. It also helps that this mount is tall so I can look down on all the miserable peasants with their non AH mounts. Ahahaha!!! Good thing my Brutosaur has such a long neck so he can lap up their delicious poor people tears.
Positive. I understand people will be disappointed, but the reality is it would likely be replaced with something else. Which… could be a good thing. The markets aren’t nearly as strong as they once were. It could be that Blizzard is aware of that and a new mount will be released with a more reasonable price. This makes the Brutosaur a unique mount and the ‘new’ lower cost most reasonable.
That is total speculation, but there may be a reason they want to remove it. There have been lots of things in this game that have been removed from expansion to expansion with NO communication. The fact they are getting ahead of this and communicating it says they are, at the very least, aware of that.
I guess I don’t see it as a slap. I bought the mount and the cost relative to the gold I had (and the work to get it) was still very high. To me, seeing gold inflate from expansion to expansions is a slap in the face… To see the hard work of one expansion get negated by another sucks. Same goes for PvP elite gear, titles, etc.
So for them to remove something like this just makes sense. Everyone has ample time now to plan if they want to get it or not.
Of all the ‘issues’ you listed, I don’t understand how this is related to any of them. Why can’t there be items in an expansion that is UNIQUE to that expansion? That makes earning them, or buying them, that much more rewarding.
It’s not very different, and I’m not a fan of that stuff either. I’m not a fan of limited time content period.
Making some rewards locked behind difficult tasks that you can accomplish if you practice and get better over time? Sure. Making it impossible to earn after a certain point? Not what I’d call good design. There are other ways to make things exclusive without resorting to making thing available for a limited time only.
I’m glad I financially destroyed myself this xpac to get it now.
She plays the AH, sells sky golems etc, which is legitimate gameplay means since anyone can do it in game right now.
Nah, This is good change. The people that have it, not me, are probably proud of their mount and people will admire that and lust for it. Idk how to really say what i mean, but it’s just like seeing a Gladiator ranked player. They put dedication into it, and this mount shows dedication of the player putting gold in
I disagree with the removal of the mount. It is a mount that has an actual, tangible effect on the game world economy, and they’re going to take it away from the reach of many players. That’s just wrong. This is not like challenge mode or elite pvp armor sets (cosmetic only), or like old legendaries (obsolete after their expansion). This is a mount that will continue to be relevant, because of which I feel it is wrong to remove it.
Then buy it off BMAH, it is being moved, not removed. I’m actually liking the idea more now that I think about it… Go through a bidding war to get an Auction House.
Aw, and I finally just got back up 300k, too. I’m the slowest gold-maker in existence, so it looks like this mount isn’t gonna happen for me if its price increases on the BMAH. On the bright side, at least there won’t be 100% of players with this mount blocking mailboxes in cities and hubs. Having to maneuver around numerous brutosaur butts in Boralus/Dazar’alor just to check my mail gets old after a while.
Already covered that.
If people quit over this, its okay. They can go. This game was much better when it didn’t try to cater to players that really dont want to play.
It’s funny how players suddenly care about this mount only after an announcement of its removal.
What a ridiculous whale hunting tactic.
You guys are only going deeper and deeper on your greed.
Are they paying you? Or are you just that stupid that you’d willingly defend something that benefits no one?
It’s funny how you think that’s the case. Because there are plenty of people, myself included, who have been wanting to get this mount but earning that much gold while also trying to keep a subscription going is nigh impossible.
I pay for my sub with cash, but still have never had even one million gold in a year, or ever.
Oh well, I guess now I’ll never have to.
But what an odd thing to do on Blizzard’s part, unless they plan a new AH mount in Shadowlands?
Blizzard, thinking up new stategies, to make less revenue, since 2004!
Lol, of all the things to get mad about. If you dont “play the AH” why would you want an AH mount? I already have too many mounts that won’t fit though doors or gates. Even if I managed to save a couple more mill gold I still wouldn’t buy the damn thing
