Looking for new game

I have not looked through every comment so don’t know if this was mentioned:

Dragon Age Inquisition.

OP this is your dream game. It’s basically a single player MMO with different maps full of stuff to do. Great story. Great combat.

Rimworld, such amazing emergent storytelling, and you can slow down the speed, totally customize difficulty etc.

Guild Wars 2 is what I’ve been on.

Yeah, because everyone on the forums enjoys the game.

Poe isn’t pay to win at all, mtx’s just enhance the look of the game and change the look of abilities.

Maybe try dragon’s dogma: dark arisen?
Great game. Lots of skills and classes.
Also has some of the best looking magic spells in a game.

I’d go with Elder Scrolls Online.

A lot of the content I’ve done in the time I played was solo content. It’s the closest I’ve found to a solo MMORPG.

Also, Skyrim with mods is a TON of fun!

A thought.

The ones who “hate” the game love it the most because despite hating it they can’t part with it.

Elder scrolls online is super fun solo game with group content that you can do. With the expansions added the game is quite big and has tons of content to play through.
Another option is guild wars 2. I personally fell in love with this game when it came out for 2-3 years and go back from time to time. With all 3 expansions it has tons on content as well and the main story throughout the expansions is really good. Although the character customization isn’t as in depth as final fantasy it’s still pretty good.

One of my favorite games is on sale for $2.

If that isn’t your style, try this one for $5:

Borderlands 3 and if your into mobile gameing as well i would say Gunfire Reborn. Also try mr autofire very grindy but fun game imho it’s a rogue-lite sider scoller shooter but your auto fireing and not aiming at all but there are alot of mmo like elements in place imho for progression and you don’t even have to pay i only payed 10 dollars to get rid of annoying ads and i did it mainly to support them and what i got was a hero who gives me stuff that would cost money for free anyways i play it more then wow because i hate leveling in wow so once i get maxed ill be here more its a amazeing but hard game at first.

Go ESO, all quests are voiced, some quests have choices that carry over into next chapters of that quest in later expansion. It’s really fun to just be in that world. And ESO lore is just whole universe above everything in this universe (except warhammer maybe)

I saw someone suggest Elden Ring. This was an amazing game. Red Dead 2 is also really great. I just got them both for my new gaming rig. GW2 is also a really fun game as well.

Echoing someone else who mentioned ESO. I never once was forced to do content with other players except when it came to world bosses, but those are pretty standard and people will just ask you to put in a letter for an auto-invite to whatever. Dungeons are also fairly standard, and only give some more challenging aspects for the DLC dungeons.

I certainly was not the best player, but most all of the story content and most of the overworld (outside aforementioned WBs) is easily soloable, and you have full freedom to build how you want to, in typical TES fashion. If you want to make it even easier, I’d recommend sorcerer and taking the skills that give you some daedra pets. I think there was another class with a tank, too, but I can’t remember what the name was. Warden? Or can roll a Templar for self healing if you want! But the game essentially mass-dumps potions on you like they’re going out of style.

OSRS is another decent MMO you can solo. It’s more grind-heavy and very old school, but also quite slow-paced and is a good vibe game.

Outside of those, for single player experiences, if you like stories and lore I’d highly recommend giving cRPGs like Baldur’s Gate or (more recently) Owlcat’s Pathfinder games a try. Very customizable in terms of difficulty, no pressure from anything, a ton of character customization and lots of good storytelling and RP potential.

Here are some more great games from my Favorites list on Steam:

I have to agree here its’ probably the closet thing op will find to fit hes needs for time killing.

If you have access to any of the playstation systems I would recommend any of the ratchet and clank games to you, particularly the newer ones. You can’t customize your character really, but you do have good gameplay and good story. Plus most of the newer ones tend to be fairly forgiving of physical limitations. Games have multiple smaller open worlds that I admit aren’t as big as an mmo, but are open nonetheless. I would also recommend God of war / gow Ragnarok for much the same reasons. Good gameplay good story but can’t customize.

when i leave WoW (again, eventually) it will be either New World or SWtoR.

Mass Effect

Have you tried Kenshi? I got super into it for a while. Single player game with a very interesting massive open world with pretty decent character creation and mod support.
