One creepy post was deleted by the author and another apparently by Blizzard. The original post #8 exposing some kind of pregnancy announcement/fetish was nuked completely.
For my part, I just don’t abide by feigned public politeness/pretending like nothing is off when someone is openly being a creep and relying on society’s tendency to not call it out for fear of disrupting status quo. I prefer to make it publicly clear those behaviors aren’t the norm for WrA but I understand how that can be a turn off if what you’re looking for is to chill. I apologize for my forwardness and should have made my intentions more clear. I’m also glad that crap is mostly out of this thread now. I’m also glad I quoted it, otherwise the deletions would have erased it entirely.
My guild is essentially this. We’ve been together since 2007, play many games other that WoW together (e.g., Helldivers 2, 3 ongoing Dungeon & Dragons campaigns, 1 Daggerheart campaign, and 1 Pathfinder campaign). Between WoW patches, we’re basically roleplaying, doing M+s, or obsessing over old content for the perfect transmogs. Lately, we’ve been running or helping out with Mythic Aberrus and Amirdrassil runs to snag DF transmog. It’s been slow going since it’s not Legacy Loot yet. We’ve also been running Shadowlands content incessantly and I’ve effectively collected all the sets and color variations from Castle Nathria by now.
That said, while we are very active in WoW, the community around the Rose has become an online Third Place over the years where folks chill after a long day of work, school, rearing kids, etc. It’s basically that bar, mall, park, what have you that you chill at with familiar faces at the end of the day, except it’s online and you can log in anytime.
Roleplay-wise, we’re also extremely character-driven, where instead of an overarching guild plotline dictated by the GM/Officers, we encourage members to interact with fellow guildies on a character level. If the “seeds” of such roleplay grow into a full-blown saga (AKA a “rose”), one of our many experienced DMs can be looped in (or coach a player) and turn it into a full-blown storyline. Basically it’s a sprout-up instead of trickle-down RP approach and not only is it fun and immersive, it also makes sure multiple characters get moments to shine + GMs, Officers, or DMs aren’t disproportionately shouldering the work. Having been at this a long time, we found this approach is more fun and encourages more folks to get involved.
