Looking for a guild that supports silly antics

Hey, all!

I used to have a lot of friends here on Wyrmrest Accord but after some burnout and time away from the game, I’m kind of on my own. I typically enjoy playing on my own but it’s been suggested I find some buddies to play WoW with so I can try out the newest content.

By “silly”, I mean that I don’t play the game normally. I like doing older content over newer content and making transmogs. Not only that, I like doing random silly challenges for myself to make it more interesting to play the game. I also just like interacting with communities members and getting up to shenanigans in towns.

I’m making this post because I’ve just found that… not many people are down with this kind of thinking. It’s either “Just go RP” (which was part of my burnout) or “Just do the new content, there’s point in doing that”.

To sum it all up, I just wanna meet like-minded people who enjoy how truly massive this game is and all that it holds. <3

Are you looking for just in-game guild? Because if you were cool with a mostly discord sort of deal, I have one in mind to refer you to.

I’d be interested! I just wanna meet chill folks to do content with.

I just use in-game communities and simply meeting players in-character for all of my shenanigans. For alternate play styles, I guild off realm and use Discord. This way, my character is shielded from the consequences of in-character deeds in regards to OOC content.

Bruh humble bragging on video game forums on a semi-weekly basis about how you avoid personal accountability for your crappy in-game actions isn’t the flex you think it is.

It’s creepy. You’re being creepy. Vibes are so off, they’re in another ZIP code.

Stop it. Get some help.

btw here’s Sadgati’s nugget of accountability-dodging wisdom from last week:

The heck are you up to requires this much thought to cover your tracks, buddy?

Here to plug Vigilants of Tyr is recruiting, we do have folks run old content and we occasionally do xmog runs but we are primarily an RP guild.

Right now folks are playing a lot of SoD but I can’t guarantee we’ll be sticking with it when the new patch drops.

Even if we aren’t the guild for you, you are welcome to hang out in Discord with us, we are also a very active social group of people and happy to have new folks around to BS and chat about the game or other games and just w/e.

While I agree IC and OOC should be separate, there are situations where OOC consent is key in roleplay. For example: NSFW public displays.

Damn, dude. I can see why complaints reached past guild masters and why now you go to such lengths to maintain some kind of anonymity — and those are stories you volunteered to share.

That said, I wouldn’t consider this normal or even that great of advice to newcomers or returners. It’s an extreme measure to allow the presumably extreme manner you wish to play this game. You do you but if you cross the lines of consent, OOC consequences are to be expected and minded.

Man…

I was just asking about chill communities and guilds… xD

EDIT: I think I might just play by myself for now… I’ve been asking around for a long time and I’m not having any luck. A lot of players seem to act like running old content/doing some sort of shenanigans or silliness in-game is some sort of sin.

So I’m just gonna chill on my own. Thanks all.

Hit me up in game. Sadgati and her gang is about chill and silly as it gets.

I considered offering up my guild, seeing as we’re kind of the Monty Python of RPers, but we don’t run content very often at all. Also both my RP officer and I are sick right now, so we’ve been super quiet for maybe 2 weeks.

If I see you online, we’ll be happy to include you in shenanigans.

One creepy post was deleted by the author and another apparently by Blizzard. The original post #8 exposing some kind of pregnancy announcement/fetish was nuked completely.

For my part, I just don’t abide by feigned public politeness/pretending like nothing is off when someone is openly being a creep and relying on society’s tendency to not call it out for fear of disrupting status quo. I prefer to make it publicly clear those behaviors aren’t the norm for WrA but I understand how that can be a turn off if what you’re looking for is to chill. I apologize for my forwardness and should have made my intentions more clear. I’m also glad that crap is mostly out of this thread now. I’m also glad I quoted it, otherwise the deletions would have erased it entirely.

My guild is essentially this. We’ve been together since 2007, play many games other that WoW together (e.g., Helldivers 2, 3 ongoing Dungeon & Dragons campaigns, 1 Daggerheart campaign, and 1 Pathfinder campaign). Between WoW patches, we’re basically roleplaying, doing M+s, or obsessing over old content for the perfect transmogs. Lately, we’ve been running or helping out with Mythic Aberrus and Amirdrassil runs to snag DF transmog. It’s been slow going since it’s not Legacy Loot yet. We’ve also been running Shadowlands content incessantly and I’ve effectively collected all the sets and color variations from Castle Nathria by now.

That said, while we are very active in WoW, the community around the Rose has become an online Third Place over the years where folks chill after a long day of work, school, rearing kids, etc. It’s basically that bar, mall, park, what have you that you chill at with familiar faces at the end of the day, except it’s online and you can log in anytime.

Roleplay-wise, we’re also extremely character-driven, where instead of an overarching guild plotline dictated by the GM/Officers, we encourage members to interact with fellow guildies on a character level. If the “seeds” of such roleplay grow into a full-blown saga (AKA a “rose”), one of our many experienced DMs can be looped in (or coach a player) and turn it into a full-blown storyline. Basically it’s a sprout-up instead of trickle-down RP approach and not only is it fun and immersive, it also makes sure multiple characters get moments to shine + GMs, Officers, or DMs aren’t disproportionately shouldering the work. Having been at this a long time, we found this approach is more fun and encourages more folks to get involved.

Aww I always miss the crazy stuff

The fun thing about having a pregnant character is in the event that WoW outlives the person behind the character ‘me’, there will be an offspring to carry on the antics!! So fun it must be terrifying like diving the dragon down into the core hoping to make it to Hallowfall without bashing your head!!

Jokes, aka trolling aside, my character is actually with child in canon. If anything, Sadgati will be a little on the low energy side of things in-game IC . She is more on the super chill side of thing mostly sticking with her own close circle.

I will say, per 30 years of playing various MMORPGs, if you encounter a pregnant character, it is almost certainly a dude behind it. Women online will see it as creepy. Off screen, I don’t care. It is not as creepy as it seems. Just write “Fades To Black”, then do a DND roll. The DND roll is always with the consent of the other player and requires two separate rolls, one for fertility (rolled by female character), second is for implantation (male character).
