I mostly play classic and when i play retail i play horde on blackwater raiders but I watched a video on Moon Guard on youtube and it looks like Moon Guard has actual community and interaction like I like from classic so I rolled here. I RP’d as a kid but I may as well be considered a brand new RPer since it was 18 years ago. I’m interested in getting started with a friendly community open to my character concept.
My character concept is an old war vet who lost an eye and now uses his hawk as his eyes for reconnaissance. He is a kul tiran survival hunter who used to be a sharpshooter but when he lost his eye he picked up a spear. Something basic to start with I think is good right?
I have no idea what addons and etiquette are used in RP so i’d need people patient and understanding and willing to teach me. If my name isn’t RP compliant just let me know and I’ll change it when i have the money. I’m LGBT+ friendly as well!!
Hi there! Welcome to Moon Guard. I assume the video you watched was “World of Warcraft most infamous realm” where it goes in depth and talks about the things we do here on the server.
There’s obviously the guild that the youtuber is apart which has big and open community where it can be easy to jump in to the many groups and roleplay in their guild
And there’s many more communities and guilds in this server. You’ll see them in Stormwind recruiting & just make friends and have them make suggestions. This server is very open and friendly to whatever course you decide to go on.
Addons I use:
TRP3 - Your main one this one allows you to see who is a roleplayer & see the persons RP profile.
Listener - Allows you to hover over a character and see their chat history for those busy crowded events.
Emote splitter - If you’re a novella roleplayer this comes in handy as it splits your emotes and messages up.
Khelios did a great job listing some good options! I just wanted to add to it by saying there are also recruitment faires for guilds specifically where you can ‘browse’ the various guilds showing up and talk to them to see what their guilds are about.
Finding someone that fits your ‘vibe’ is often a good start! You can find threads that have information about those faires. This is one of them:
