Thinking about once again finding a guild/community. I have been playing WOW off and on since its inception and over the years have only been in a few guilds. The ones I stayed part of were those that the guild was more than just log in to raid. We were friends, we really got to know each other, we learned our classes together, we died countless deaths together beating our heads against the wall (Karazan comes to mind) some times with little to show for it, but we still had a good time trying.
I’m much older now (50+), and don’t have near the time I would like to play. I recently starting playing a little again and have been re-visiting old zones (currently just re-running trivial classic zone quests). Given the recent anniversary event with quick leveling I do have a couple characters near 80, but haven’t set foot in the new zones (interpreted as my gear SUCKS and I really haven’t figured out exactly how to play these classes yet).
Ultimately, I’m looking to find a new group of friends to enjoy the game with. I need a group that understands that I get extremely busy at times and may not always be able to log in. I need a group that can enjoy failures together, that understands when someone screws up its ok. I would like an active group that also likes to just chat. I use to do a bit of raiding (Cataclysm and earlier…) and I’ve never ran a Mythic. I wouldn’t mind getting into them, but I’m definitely not going to try to pug them.

I am not sure exactly sure from your post how interested you are in jumping into a guild that has a weekly schedule as far as a commitment goes, but the guild I’m recruiting for, Assault, raids weekly on Thurs and Fri evenings from 7:30-10p.m. PST (10:30p-1a EST). We’re an AotC oriented guild that earns AotC every season and also dabble a little in Mythic when we can. I know you mentioned you have raided before, I am not sure if you’ve decided on retirement from scheduled progression, or still have an active interest in it. My guild can offer an extremely relaxed and social atmosphere, with many people with smaller or random playtime schedules. We plan to do group content casually, TW, mythics, retro stuff or even LFR or whatever if there is interest, but we have retired from scheduled progression content. Hello, I am 53 years old myself, welcome back to the game. Below is a little about the guild.
Bakery is looking for more players. We raid normal/heroic and we are currently 7/8H. We also like to run mythic plus. While we do run some on our off scheduled days, we do have two dedicated days for them. Here is our schedule.
Sun - Mythic plus starting at 6pm est (for beginners to advance-coaching avail by me)
Mon - Raid starting at 8:30PM til 1030pm Est
Wed - Raid same as above
Thur- Mythic plus same as Sun.

If you are just looking for people to hang out with when you are able to log on, the guild Sunday Drivers are a cool chill guild who run old raids, dungeons and an assortment of other adventures.

The Clique is a friendly, casual, heroic raiding guild on the alliance side of the Norgannon server cluster. We have been around sense early in Burning Crusade. A lot of our core members have known one another for a long time, and we offer a stable, friendly environment to new raiders or seasoned raiders that want a break from hardcore environments.
We are currently recruiting for raiding for The War Within. We raid 9:45pm to 12:45am CST on Tuesday and Sunday. We are currently looking for some range dps for our raiding team. Our guild boasts quite a few west coast members, a few night owls, and a few parents who find time to play after their kids have gone to sleep.
