It’s not my intention to sound pissy, but there’s no other way I can think to say this… what are you exploring in that case, a straight line? I’m legitimately curious what you mean by this.
The flying or not to, debate never ends. But i find it fascinating that no one asks the more pertinent question, why is so much of this game is worth skipping?
Did anyone complain about a lack of flying in Horizon Zero Dawn, or Dragon Age Inquisition? no. Wonder why?
My point: killing 50 kobolds to get from point A to point B, isn’t content, it’s filler. Most of wow is. It’s how they prevent the peanut-sized budget Activation gives them from getting crushed.
Make the entire game feel like a 300 million dollar hardcore rpg with a story that moves me, and I’ll stop flying . . . .
until then, giddy up! lol.
Way to dismiss people because their opinion differs from yours.
I agree, in this case the minority (flying bad) should not be listened to.
The fact people think Pathfinder is pandering to anyone is hysterical to me. All it does is exploit the players. But Blizzard could spit on some players’ faces and they’d thank the devs.
When you are flying you can go down to look at something you would never have realized was there were it not for flight. That’s what real exploration is about, not checking off pixels on a list of pixels you need to step on to complete an assignment.
Fair enough. It might be a reasonable compromise. I am firmly in the I like to fly camp, I honestly wish it would come sooner in an expansion, and I believe it continues to take longer to acquire.
With that being said, my only concern would be further segmenting the ‘community’ from each other, using the my previous examples of a quick trade or a group picture.
Thank you for your insight
What you are saying here doesn’t make sense because you’re not saying what you are rounding down to; the nearest million? the nearest 1000?
I’m sorry but the other guy is right for mocking you because you are not being very concise at all.
Pathfinder is not pandering to anyone. Read the poster to whom I am responding. He never go out into the world, and thinks people who do should be forced to remain on the ground, because flight wrecked the world for him during BC.
I wasn’t referring to you. I was referring to the people defending Pathfinder as if the devs are doing them a favor by implementing it. Plenty of people say that.
He never go out into the world, and thinks people who do should be forced to remain on the ground
Way to put words into my mouth. I never said that… anywhere. And you’re calling me innumerate yet here you are demonstrating illiteracy.
Okay, you don’t understand how math works either. People who don’t understand math and science often have odd opinions about things that are actually fact-based.
The flying or not to, debate never ends. But i find it fascinating that no one asks the more pertinent question, why is so much of this game is worth skipping?
I don’t really think it’s a matter of skipping content because it’s not worth it. It’s a matter of having the choice to do so after you’ve already had the novelty of exploring and experiencing it for the first time. That novelty doesn’t last forever and just ends up becoming boring or tedious, and the only way around this is the ability to fly - do the content you wanna do, and do it effeciently and without the hassle of traversing awkward terrain and the packs of mobs that have the ability to daze and dismount you.
You said you don’t go out into the world. And not understanding how basic arithmetic works means yes. You are innumerate.
I like it, I enjoy it therefore my vote goes to, flying does not ruin the game for me.
You said you don’t go out into the world
Please, quote it.
And not understanding how basic arithmetic works means yes. You are innumerate
Guess that makes you illiterate.
Flight paths don’t land you on top of the specific quest goal you’re looking for
Yes they do.
Calligraphy is always near the FPs. There are some other quest objectives that are also near FPs as well.
I do understand how maths work and that is precisely why I am asking you, when you say “rounds down to zero” what multiple are you using?
My mistake. You said that the world has been dead to you for more than a decade. I assumed that meant you weren’t going out. I guess you were, but you just needed a reason to complain about other people.
If you don’t understand how basic arithmetic works, you’re no doubt in good company. But that doesn’t change the fact that you have no understanding of how numbers work.
I do understand how maths work and that is precisely why I am asking you, when you say “rounds down to zero” what multiple are you using?
“Multiple”.
LOL. Use math terms to discuss math. I can’t interpret what you are saying because it doesn’t have a mathematical meaning in this context.
but you just needed a reason to complain about other people
I wasn’t complaining about anybody unt you came after me. Funny how that works.
If you don’t understand how basic arithmetic works, you’re no doubt in good company. But that doesn’t change the fact that you have no understanding of how numbers work.
That still makes you illiterate.
Use math terms to discuss math
Multiple is a math term.
The whole “I don’t like flying, so no one else should” is seriously so mind numbingly pathetic thing on the forums. Nothing makes me want to smack my head against the wall, but these posts that keep coming from just a handful of players just seems insane to me.
NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO FLY! Do what you want in game and stop promoting game mechanics like climbing buildings as the greatest thing in game. It was fun for a couple of hours in classic, but been there, done that.
