You will never be able to eliminate RMT and Bots. All you can do is limit it and make it easier to detect.

SOD wasnât enough proof for them. which also had RMT, and bots. so this is the new experiment. with (not really) shocking results.
Even after that little gold rush event was put in. THat probably sped it up. as most of game was now working under oh, didnât you make tons in that rain of gold? No? well it sucks to be you since most sellers on AH will assume you did!

Tons of people left playing on Era and it is now growing again every single day; just like a Troll we regenerate our player base and there is nothing Blizzard can do about it.
And while one may say its a matter of scale; this is true but we have fewer gold buyers and botters per % of player base and thatâs just a fact because there is absolutely zero reason to buy gold on Era when you can get gold on Era so very easy; especially on Whitemane where our economy is stable 4 years later, and we can reliably sell and buy the items and consumables we desire.
If Blizzard doesnât care, why should we?
People are allegedly getting death threats from these bots, yet Blizz can only stay quiet and ban them in waves. In the meantime, Bots go about their business for the most part with impunity.
Threads like these are like screaming into an empty chasm, they may make you feel better temporarily but they fall on deaf ears.

So then why even play FRESH when the economy that so many people seem to think matters is now worse than 4 year old Era servers?
IF its a leveling experience that matters; IMO Era is Better
IF its the PUG experience at level cap that matters, Era is Better.
IF its the Economy that matters, Era is Better.
If PVP is the point then Era is WAY Better.
Right now, FRESH offers nothing that you cant have on Era, only difference is FRESH does it worse because you have tons of bots and layers and cant mine / herb / farm, and half the players on fresh openly admit to buying gold.
Why even bother with fresh at this point?
At this point, Iâm just trying to have some fun before the grim reality truly sets in and people start to drop off.
Iâm not trying to doom post, but if Blizz doesnât do anything (and they most likely wonât given the track record) then itâs only going to get worst.
And with the bots now making examples out of people like some kind of Mexican Cartel and threatening to murder peopleâs families and Blizz STILL not doing a thing (as far as we know)⌠well thatâs that then.
I will play the game until I am not having fun, and then I will move on.

Honestly, GDKPs were just a symptom to the botting issue.
Blizz doesnât want or desire to attack the root of the issue.
Also yes, as posted above Anniversary Servers are shiny and new so itâs not a big surprise they are popping off right now.
I can care less if they ban GDKP or not, the main thing bothering me are Bots not only being everywhere but are now so emboldened as to believe they can threaten peopleâs lives because of Blizzardâs inaction.
And why wouldnât they? If you mess with a bot you are essentially hurting someoneâs real life money hustle these gangs depend on to live.
Of course they would threaten to murder you. You are messing with their money.
The fact it has gotten to this point is just really depressing.
I agree with that, butâŚbanning GDKPs are still good. And what else can do the devs do? You think Aggrend is in charge of hiring GMs? People are directing their anger towards the wrong people. The bean counters who make the big decisions donât give a damn about the integrity of the game, the impact it has on the experience, or the kind of player it attracts. They care about the bottom line. Bots = more money. Blue posts saying otherwise are nonsense. Plus, they donât have to pay GMs to police the game.
By the way, the RMT aspect is only part of the reason theyâre banned. People always ignore the other one: the degradation of guilds and loss of the social aspect of the game. GDKPs are merely business transactions.
The only guilds that fail because of GDKP are bad guilds that everyone quits anyway. I have seen those kinds of guilds come and go, and even before GDKP they fall apart because they have garbage leadership.

It gives tbc again. in a more native state. for the bored cata folks its something to do. for the MOPâs haters, its either tbc part 3 or back to retail. Or no retail at all. Their wow goal is not mc/aq/naxx for the next 3 years of their life. So era 4 lyfe wonât be happening.
even in cata TBC is a quick run. itâs not like you get the full experience of it there. Not even for mog runs. I no bs see more ads for aq mog runs than any tbcc raid in /4.
Fresh gets crapped up economies every time. People at this point know what they are doing from doing it 3 to 5 times now. actual people. the mistakes many made in OG, then 2019 restart, som then sod are not remade here.

What have you fixed? Iâve said that many times. But guess what: theyâre swiping less. Thanks to a big reason to buy gold being banned.
So keep seething.
The gold sellers and their bots being present in mass disagree with your assessment. Something must be done, players who buy gold should be banned without recovery options. Just ban them, if they swipe, ban them, if they come back and swipe again ban them. Also ban the bots without mercy, and do so relentlessly.
Yup, they should be instantly banned. You know whoâs arguing against that? GDKPers, because they donât want to be banned. And the ones who claim to want bots banned are being dishonest. That big gold you get at the end of a GDKP comes from swipers buying gold from those bots.
So Blizz did one good thing with this ban. Iâll give them that. But it should be expanded to all versions of the game.
