you are talking about current/barely old content. Tell me that is the same in 1 year. GDKP’s benefit is that it keeps older content relevant for years to come.

People who buy gold are poor. They buy gold and spend it. On what you say? Skills, consumes, dual spec, mount, boe gear(including greens), mage boosts, pay people to tank for them or heal for them etc…
GDKP was mostly filled with people who mage farm and make gold off the auction house. Gold buyers are poor except like the few that are super super rich millionaires that play this game rather than travel the world for real.

another thing not considered is how fast people that buy gold QUIT THE GAME!
There is something to be said about the perceived value of your character and the journey you have had along the way in building it.
When you circumvent that challenge by buying gold and just getting everything you want, you devalue the accomplishments in yourself of the value of this character. I have loved GDKP and the value of earning my pieces on my characters has not waned because I haven’t bought gold to ruin this.
It still takes a ton of time to play GDKPs in a legit way because good items take time to earn enough gold for (just the same way it would take time to save DKP for an item in the past)
People that buy gold actually quit the game because the value of their character is destroyed

portals portals portals & summons.
epic mount
in any pug you can whisper the item winner and offer them tons of gold to buy the item
contact top guilds and buy certain raid item or full items.
also you can brag about being rich and give girls gold to enslave them J/K
i personally don’t think blizzard banned gdkp to stop RMT, they just banned gdkp because they are clueless and not doing anything toward the bots or the gold buying/selling.

Seems obvious to me.
You had a bot infestation on Whitemane cluster whenever Era was booming for whatever reason. I know you were in those threads so you know that it was plainly obvious that the demand for CC gold to do GDKPs etc was super super high.
My guess is that those gold buyers are now on the Anniversary realms. When you see someone with two or more very expensive BOE world drop items not even a month after launch they were either very lucky - or they have a swiper site on speed dial.
