Have not seen that, I’ll have to take a look.
AV 1.5 made vanilla better.
I enjoyed that the RPG aspect had more value to the players and Blizzard. You’d choose your race (hint hint) and class at the login screen, and then join the community. Power gains felt like power gains. A trinket drop felt like a power increase and not a power gain for all of the mobs you were killing.
This thread addresses most of your need to discuss LFG:
By having the community manage things like a Global LFG channel, you can form up a group while questing, and still have to experience the travel time once you are all ready to go.
And I guarantee you’ll spend more than 30 minutes in any dungeon past Rage Fire Chasm.
Stop saying people are living through or playing only because of Nostalgia. It’s just not true, sure some are wanting classic for nostalgic reasons but those playing and grinding on private servers are not there for nostalgic reasons, I wasn’t.
First off, I loved classic for the pvp and world immersion. Raiding was okay for me but many loved that aspect. I’m not a huge pve’r myself but I have a lot of buddies that have not played wow for 5+years and ARE COMING back to play classic in hopes it transpires into something more like classic to WOTLK or even something new.
How is this ANY DIFFERENT than retail right now??? You get hit 120 slay some dragons and PVP. The game is 10x easier now as well. Every class is homengized, some specs are less than 20 keybinds. Farming all the azurite gear you need to have it completely nerfed the next week is a GREAT time!
So many people want the community aspect of wow back. The popular opinion is that taking away the community aspect and social part of wow is killing it. LFG? No thanks. Classic wasn’t about linking DPS meters, it was about working as a team to get things done and having a blast doing it. Classic was more hardcore as well, if you were lazy and did stupid things over and over you got punished for it.
Well here I am still subbed to BFA and I think it is THE WORSE expansion of any game ever. Does that answer your question? I am finding other things to due, if classic WAS NOT coming I would no longer be a subscriber of wow.
Regardless of OUR opinions, there is “A GIGANTIC” want for classic as I said before or they would not be doing classic servers. Thats a fact stated by the devs themselves. Go watch the interviews.
People like BFA and thats fine. A majority of us do not. We ARE getting classic and it’s going to be a great time for those of us who have asked for so long.
TLDR - Were not playing classic wow for NOSTALGIA, guy so get over it.
You mean like Dailies? At least two years.
Pretty long time. The survival of the human race depends on it.
Some of these Classic haters and the dumb arguments they come up with just make me laugh so much.
Aside from that, the SOUNDS of agro, you havent been hit yet and you don’t see them…just the SOUNDS of impending DOOM!
Mrggllglglruglurgl
I’m looking forward to all the RPG things that were removed over the years in the name of Quality of life and convenience. Lots of which, have already been mentioned in this thread.
Can’t wait to hunt me some real RARE mobs on my night elf hunter
- Attunements
- No ilvl requirements
- Kiting mobs
- Barren’s Chat… miss you Chuck…
You just contradicted yourself… “It won’t cost me any more money, but when I’m done with Classic, I won’t be playing either version.” So you mean that you’re going to pay to play Classic while not playing “retail?” Because that is exactly what you stated…
it will be running on the new engine though so I’m curious to see what kind of performance improvement you actually get…
You are confusing expectations ingrained in the player base for over 10 years, with expectations of a portion of that player base who want only what was in-game at the start of the game.
There is no expectation of portals in Classic because they weren’t all over the place in the original version.
As the game expanded from there, however, it’s a much different story. Try this: you taught your dog that “fetch” means to go retrieve whatever you throw and bring it back. For 10 years that dog has fetched whatever you threw out there. How long do you think it’s going to take to UNTRAIN that dog, so the next time you yell “FETCH” he just sits there and looks at you? If you create an expectation, you’re not allowed to be surprised when those expecting something are told they can’t have it or do it anymore, rise up with righteous indignation. It’s called a “foreseeable result,” whether you foresaw it or not.
Classic, on the other hand, has no such expectations … portals and personal flight are not expected to be in Classic and, if included, would likely be game-breakers for those who have clamored for Classic lo these many years.
This is a nice write up, but I think you’re taking his statement too seriously.
Especially since its was on April Fools.
Everyone knows what you’re saying, and everyone agrees with it. Its correct but obviously correct to the point of pointless.
The little thing where you knew people, and they knew you. Your kindness, or you nastiness followed you. There was no hiding behind different realms, or changing identity with a name change.
Like living in a small town, you were your name, You stood behind your name, your name was your bond. So you worked hard on building that name, and it built character.
I was a priest, and as soon as I logged on I would get whispers from people to join a group.
I was on a PVP team, often times the opposing team, knowing we were better, would just sit around a fire …not even try.
So yeah, the little thing of reputation of who you were and building on that…that was better.
Chocolate? Sacrilege for these forums!
May I please have Vanilla?
Boom, tish
Two days ago was April 2nd, not April 1st. It’s his way of rubbing salt in the wound over his comment last month in the thread on portal removal before the portals were removed. He knows exactly what he was doing by including that comment in his April 2nd post. He won’t put it down and let it die. And as long as he keeps pushing that agenda, I’m going to call him out on it. He brought an argument about current WoW into a forum on Classic WoW. When he lets it go, so will I.
I haven’t played BFA in a while but what is the uproar about removing portals about? A convenience thing?

This is the thread in General Discussion and his post in it. Scroll through it to see the exchanges between him and the players.
I understand that changes can throw people off a bit at first, but I also think they help keep the world of Azeroth feeling alive. When there are fewer portals, does the world feel a bit bigger to you? Do you like that? How difficult is it to get to the locations you mentioned without a direct portal (talking to everybody who isn’t a mage here ) ?

Buddy, he was being facetious. Look it up.
