In the face of facts, they doubled down and still believes this is an appropriate place to debate the portal removals. Theres no stopping them. Just let them rage and they’ll stop derailing this topic soon enough, though honestly the Blue basically did the same thing which was kinda unprofessional, but whatever.
The hard decision is how many mobs are between you and that node. Think you can run between them, but end up pulling 2-3 and instant death?
I’m hoping I can turn the graphics down farther than retail currently lets me. An actual full screen mode would be nice too. If performance ends up being the same, and it’s already on the new engine, I guess I wouldn’t object to the new models then. I’m becoming afraid we can’t have nice things like 60fps from a nine year old machine.
You’re making an assumption (and you know what THAT does). You have absolutely NO WAY of knowing that; you just want to be argumentative. Let HIM come in here and clarify his statement, like he tried to do in his other post when he was called out by the players.
…
You’re being told to stop arguing about a topic that isn’t fit for this discussion and yet he’s the one being argumentative?
You seriously can’t see where you’re wrong?
I’m looking forward to the feeling I had when I finally got the big stuff like the benediction staff on my priest.
You need to direct that comment to the CM who started the argument IN THIS TOPIC. He deliberately, and possiby with malice aforethought, dragged a current WoW - General Discussion issue into a discussion on Classic WoW. Interesting to note that he hasn’t been back in this thread after making that gratuitous post.
And I do not recognize your authority nor right to tell me what I can and cannot say in a public forum. So long as I do not violate the CoC, you can take your “authority” and shove it.
OR, if you are alliance, it will take you more than 30 minuts just to reach Rage Fire Chasm. Back in the days, I did it only once and took a lot of work to get there
Or if you are holy paladin you don’t care. (After like level 40 or so). You can just agrro 10+ and kill them all. Granted, killing part took time and some judgement optimizations ;p
I did it as Horde numerous times (first time was 3 DPS no healer, and we wiped repeatedly on the entry mobs). As Alliance, I only ever cleared it once, during a PVP City Invasion.
30 minutes? Vanilla dungeons take well over and hour at least to complete them.

It depends. I agree with you. But if you do same donjon with same people over couple of days (let’s say Zul’Farak, because the first time I saw pyramid it memorized me) the time goes down REALLLY fast. You start to know when your healer is oom, you start to know patrols patterns. At the end it’s just very smooth and pleasant ride
You are confusing expectations ingrained in the player base for over 10 years, with expectations of a portion of THE MAJORITY base who want only what was in-game at the start of the game.
Fixed it for you but you’re not correct. We want classic but we also have no issues if they want to start over with classic and build off of that not making the same god awful mistakes that lead us to the dumpster fire they call BFA

I can support that. My only problem with that, though, is trusting the current team to not FUBAR it again, just in a different way. The devs that have led us this far away from the original game appear to not have a clue on how to make compelling game play, preferring to create game play that requires compelling the player to play it that way. There’s a difference between “compelling” and “being compelled by others.” This dev team doesn’t know that difference.

This is hilarious. I never said I had any authority. I just have integrity and don’t attempt to derail threads by bickering about pointless things in a thread talking about things that make Classic better.
To be fair, that part of the CM’s post WAS uncalled for.

Eh, within the context of Classic WoW and how it relates to Retail, it was an amusing bit of snark. Specifically when he made the veiled reference to the fact that during Vanilla’s run, it wasn’t uncommon for the “in game transportation” to KILL players due to the boats glitching(fatigue death).
I can see how a Retail user might get upset in light of the bigger picture. But for people wanting Classic WoW, permanent Portals are something everyone except the trolls shouldn’t be okay with. So I’m going to file this under “know your audience” and somebody getting upset about a post saying something in a forum that is targeting a different audience needs to take a chill pill.
Also within the context of retail, it was my experience that not all portals are permanent. Shattrath had portals to “everywhere” until Wrath, then those portals were gone, as they moved to Dalaran. Then the Cataclysm hit, and most of the Dalaran Portals were subsequently gone, and so on and so forth.
Portal locations moving around, or even being phased out for a time, as the game progresses isn’t exactly new game design for WoW, or something players should be shocked by. Given how Blizzard seems to be treating content updates as mini-expansion packs, it was only a matter of time before “portal shifts” started happening within a specific Expansion Pack.
Fair point.

Thanks for saying exactly what I was thinking in a way I couldn’t.
Anyway, another fantastic thing I liked about Classic was the old Battleground system. Being able to figure out which Warsong Gulch your friend was in and attempting to join it was way better than the weird matchmaker we have now. I’ve been playing for so many years and still cant understand how queue times work. Something involving healers, time of day, amount of Horde, ect.
PVP in WoW thrives in randomness in my opinion. Rated PVP brought a lot of attitudes that really dont sit well with me (someone who plays Quick Play in HOTS, Overwatch, and Random BGS). I prefer the casual, random, and unpredictable nature that you have to overcome when playing those game modes. It keeps it fresh, whereas when I do arena it feels like im just spamming a CC rotation until I can burst, which is very unfun.

Again, tell that the CM who came in here (Classic Discussion) and brought an issue from General Discussion into play. You’re telling me to stop posting, or did you forget that you typed:
You’re being told to stop arguing
So, yeah, you DID think you had authority to determine what someone should or should not post in a public forum. Go white-knight that CM elsewhere, or at least to someone else. I ain’t buying it. And if he comes in here again with his BS from General Discussion, I’ll respond to him again.
