The endgame when LFD released was ICC. Even than they added two new dungeons for people to play with and numerous raids to catch up with that they nerfed after ICC released.
Was this taken at the time he was leading or an interview done two decades later?
It was done the day they released dungeon finder in 2009. Maybe it was still on the ptr…
Obviously the endgame was the final raid, but you still needed those badges you got from normal bosses. The heroic daily badges were the same as the ones dropped in ICC. You needed them for progression.
Ah okay, still a dumb idea. Obviously not going to say either that he hated it when he was working on it and still working for the company.
Interviewer: “Thoughts on CR LFD?”
Rob: “I think it’s terrible. Honestly I can’t believe I haven’t discarded all of my possessions and returned back to the forest where I came from.”
I don’t recall any of these badges. Probably not important for me during it all. I remember badges of justice, tier gear, and the togc trophies… not any weird badge drops.
Funny how pro-lfd players post from lvl 23 toons and retail toons. Now aren’t you quitting? There is no LFD in wrath. Thank god for that.
You’re like 2 years late on that.
But we have seen they are INCREDIBLY hesitant to merge low population servers into mega-servers, regions such as OCE are also incredibly small compared to the US servers, giving us access to the US playerbase to help fill out our leveling population would be beneficial for both playerbases.
If blizzard had been more heavy handed in managing servers from the start to maintain their health i am sure LFD probably wouldn’t even be wanted by many of the current pro-LFD players. But blizzard played a passive role and now the community has horribly disfigured server populations and faction balances. Something they cant fix unless they forcibly move players/guilds and force renames on many people.
Again, an apathetic mindset. Just because someone might be 600+lbs and on deaths door never means it’s too late to turn it around.
Then you missed out on a lot of endgame gear. Emblems of Triumph was the main currency for buying gear in 3.3
Looked up the choices. Prob only the tome was useful. Explains why it was forgettable as I didn’t need much.
It confuses me when people call them badges. They were emblems by then, not badges.
Uhh, low pop servers aren’t obese people.
Emblem? badge? Same thing, different name.
Which is what they should do. Force mega servers and possibly allow last names. The unique name problem was something that they’ve avoided heavily. It has to be something that they need to sit down and resolve ASAP. Add the fix for it and merge the servers.
Still a disease that can be easily fixed.
Argues for the ‘Classic spirit’ and wants mega servers.
You know Alan Adham wanted like 500 concurrent players in Vanilla? Obviously they ended up higher, but they sure as Hell didn’t want 10k. There is no community in such an environment.
While I personally dont like Mega-servers. I have to admit, i think they are healthier for an MMO in decline.
Classic isnt generating new players, so communities that start to deplete have a knockon effect where once enough people leave people start transfering for greener pasturers to ensure they can groups and have a wider pool of guilds to raud with. Leaving those behind to choose between leaving their guild, staying on a dead realm or quitting. A mega-server mitigates these effects.
Again, if they had been more heavy handed at handling server populations and faction balance early on, the servers wouldnt be in such a shameful state as they are now.
Exactly, it’s just a story mode raid.
