Staring at the lfg channel spam of buying and selling dungeon runs is better? At least with dungeon finder you’re free to go out and do other things while you wait. It gets players out in the world and being active.
I quit playing retail because they dropped most of the casualesque progression. I hate M+ with a passion. Once they dropped titan forging I was locked out of pretty much everything.
I still raid with the guild when the mood strikes, but it’s such a pain to gear up without doing M+… which I hate with a passion.
nice thing about the RDF lobby you could still do stuff out in the world while waiting, (people sitting in cities waiting for a run is not a RFD thing, on my server Stratt is just full of a bunch of 70 Allies sitting around guess looking for a group or something).
How does it strip it away? I’m talking about content scaling for older content that is essentially abandoned. Scaling it all would allow everyone leveling from Min to (Max-10) the ability to do content in a wider degree. People doing dungeons could just easily do ZF or WC if they chose to do so.
LFD made the solo questing content irrelevant as you outleveled the zone by doing the dungeons. It granted XP for completion and at times you ended up 2+ levels from a dungeon. Meaning that yellow quest is now green/grey. You progress far faster than expected and you have to jump zones if you want to quest to level.
Those casuals were the people who actually put the time in to play. I had friends who were casuals and they did raid content. They didn’t expect to see everything or be given everything. The tourists who showed up were phone gaming types who wanted to coast the entire game and see it all. LFR types are the worst.
LFD promoted people not leaving the city as if you were queuing as a tank/healer you never stopped being in a dungeon. Maybe as a DPS you spent 6-10mins waiting for a dungeon pop but, any of the important roles you were in never ending dungeons. Problem still remained that you could still be questing and suddenly return to your area outleveling the zone.
Wow was built and designed to appeal to the casual masses an billed on it, it was a softer gentler EQ (which it was heavily inspired by it, but with less downtime (A LOT LESS) and faster leveling and less painful death, and easier dungeons (separate instances was a novel thing). …
Considering how badly blizzard mangled raiding in Cata by merging raid lockouts and the second tier only being 7 bosses if they don’t address that then LFR it is.
LFR and casual aren’t always in the same orbit. I only ever did LFR in hopes of getting a titanforge. Now that they took that away, I might hit it once or twice per patch.
It’s good for what it is, but it’s lousy gear to be honest. Being decked out in LFR gear isn’t going to get you into any good groups. I don’t know why people complain so much about it. It’s harmless.
well that’s easy don’t queue if you didn’t want to go to the dungeon? (well the first run though of an expansion I out leveled the zone a lot of times, but still finished for the achievements and finish the quest chains, (even if you manually go and come back you could still out level where you were questing)
One at max level RDF or not most don’t leave the city.
Classic isn’t meant for everyone. People who came from gacha games, modern games, phone games, etc shouldn’t expect it to turn into that same experience. Classic was intended to be a revisit to what the game was like and LFD is contrary to what traditional MMOs are. It’s an Activision idea and Activision has done nothing but have awful ideas.
