Literally 3/4 players want LFD

Fair point. This forum might just evolve into it.

It only took them a decade to figure out that their talent system was bad? What about LFR? What about class homogenization?

It’s honestly been useless for years though.

Interesting how history repeats itself…

We’re literally doing it right now in Classic. Those of us that played in OG Wrath also played until ICC without RDF. We don’t need to “try” it. We already have.

I haven’t been around the forums for years (Not much anyways), so I can’t speak for these forums - but from personal chats with people throughout the years, not a single one said that they disliked RDF. There have definitely been some people that said LFR was a bad idea though. And MANY speak of the borrowed power systems. The need to log in every single day or you fall behind. That’s what pushed a lot of people away.

I’m also of the opinion that dungeon content became way too easy that you no longer needed to communicate CCs, interrupts, dispels or LOS. So, that was a contributing factor to people no longer being social and some people left because of that. Not necessarily because of RDF alone.

If the devs knew better, how did we end up with the servers in the state they are now? Just because the devs agree with something you think doesn’t mean they’re correct.

So, they’re, “wrong” in saying that LFD is good and that Wrath Classic would be better with it?

But it’s still there! Say what you want but if it’s the evil feature that wrecked wow why keep it for 12 years now?

WTB emblems back :frowning: in the real way, not the crappy way they keep bringing them back.

Leveling is a major content piece of the game. That’s the story, understanding of the character/class, and making new friends along the way. LFD skips all of that necessary communication and exploration through an automated system. You don’t understand the story, you don’t understand your class because it’s dumbed down content for ease of access, and you don’t meet new friends as they’re CR/expendable nobodies.

IMO, leveling is the worst part of any MMO. I just want to play. I don’t need training and story is secondary to good gameplay. You can drop into any MMO and figure out what buttons to push to do max damage.

You really think leveling in the world or not having lfd would teach you your class? No matter what leveling is easy, always has been.

Leveling isn’t, and never has been, the biggest part of this game, it’s always been end game.

What on earth made you choose an RPG then? I think you should try out a MOBA or FPD.

Neither of those have raids.

The thing wow has done, and always will do best.

It’s only the worst because your stated goal is a particular area or because you’ve done 20+ times that it has become a chore.

And evidently many players aren’t interested in experiencing it for the second time, hence why boosting (and buying a Blizzard sanctioned boost, at that) is so popular.

If Blizzard cared about the leveling experience overall, they wouldn’t have added said boost.

I loved cataclysm.

Yes, because playing in the game world you’re given a set of tools and a world around you to interact with. LFD ignores that by having a default tank/healer/dps when in reality it’s a lot of solo play involved. You don’t really know your character unless you tried playing it alone or with wild content.

Leveling has always been a major content piece. Just because the mix/maxxers and streamers state the only content is end game raiding doesn’t mean it is. Because there are other pieces of content in the game you wouldn’t think are content. Such as trade skills and exploration.

MMO’s and RPG’s aren’t quite the same thing. Once you kill the final boss in an RPG there’s nothing left but to walk around and find things you already haven’t.

In this game, all the good content is done at max level.

That’s a failure on Blizzard’s part for making it bland. Leveling is incredibly important and having it become this static playthrough 100+ times is boring.

Trade skills haven’t been important in years, hopefully DF can fix that.

And some people don’t explore, they don’t like it. I think we just have different playstyles honestly. I don’t think leveling should be removed, but I still don’t like it much.
