Do you think he’ll be expanded on this expansion? And if so, what capacity? I like to imagine that he’s aware of what Sylvanas has been doing all this time and does not approve. Maybe working behind the scenes to stop her. shrug
While it’d be nice to see him, I rather doubt we will. I feel like he’d have shown up somewhere already.
Its possible we find him in another afterlife. I’d have expected to see him in Ardenweald or perhaps even Bastion. Bastion might’ve been the better place though, him being some blue angel dude strumming on his harp in an idyllic afterlife in between ferrying souls to the Shadowlands. It’d certainly give Sylvanas’ entire view about the machine of death being a prison more gravity; to find her beloved little brother after so long, and he’s been stripped of his memories and doesn’t recall her or their family at all. He sits there, playing the same songs on his harp or lute as he did for Sylvanas and her sisters when alive, but it’s all reflex, he cannot even remember where he learned the songs, his fingers simply know them.
A subtle but far more horrifying way to really drive home Sylvanas’ views.
Depends where they take the story.
- Alleria = Lady Sun (we lack a sun magic force thing) = Void
- Sylvanas = Lady Moon (Elune gesture) = Death
- Veressa = Little Moon (self referential to Sylvanas, but also Blue Child) = Order (via Dalaran affiliation)
That leaves.
- Lirath = Little Sun (WEIRDLY SIMILAR TO LITTLE LION HUH) = ??
Plot twist Anduin is the reincarnation of Lirath. Thus explaining her hesitation.
What if Lirath Windrunner is in this expansion but lives under a different name?

Thiral Rinnurndew?
“Thiral Runningdew” is actually a pretty convincing elven name, I can see it.
As to the OP’s question, Lirath hasn’t even been mentioned by any of his siblings ever, so I doubt we’ll see much. They can always pull a rabbit out of a hat though, I suppose.
He could be any one of us! He could be you. He could be me!
Question: I teleported bread.
We need less Windrunners, not more
Surprise, the Windrunner mother was Kael’thas’s first cousin, ergo why the Void tells Alleria the throne of Quelthalas is rightfully hers.
Don’t give them ideas.
They’re all related calling it now
You made me inhale my Food, Thanks.
He’s already a part of the lore. He just hasn’t appeared in the game, on account of having been killed during the second war; which is the reason for Alleria’s bloodlust against the Horde during that time.
No. I don’t think he ever will. He existed to be killed by Amani and to give his sisters more reason to fight. That’s it.
Your welcome.
I kinda do hope we see him, if only because there is a really weird absence of high elves in Shadowlands, for being the premiere “got their entire kingdom wiped out” race. People like Lirath, Anasterian, Dark’han, etc. are all fairly important to the stories of people like Sylvanas and Kael’thas, and the death of all those high elves is vital to both of them.
He could’ve been a Kyrian or Venthyr we’ve bumped into however it’s likely his soul is restricted to the ghostlands among the roaming Windrunner spirits.
Well, he is the little brother.
