LGBTQ+ Megathread & Lounge (Part 1)

Just popping in from my lurking, as you made me think of the song.

On a side note, regarding this song, U2 performed it during their Popmart tour in the late 90’s. During one performance they sang it with Davey Jones.

Today I got flagged twice in one day on the same post for disagreeing with the insensitive use of the word gatekeeping being used against people disagreeing with someone over stupid internet things when it’s something I’ve experienced multiple times as a trans guy.

why is this even a thing to talk about? if you’re getting so mistreated, just don’t tell others you’re gay/trans, don’t need to reveal your gender or sexual preference to get along with players, just focus on the game and nothing is to worry about, use your brains, i’ve played with plenty of gay players, and we get along by simply not verifying they’re gay, no one cares if you’re gay or not, but you will trigger others the more you remind certain players

Why shouldn’t we talk about it?

Why should we hide what we are just because you’re uncomfortable?

Why didn’t you just mute the thread and move on?

How do you know they were gay then?

Triggering bigots is good.

People shouldn’t have to hide the fact that they are gay/trans because douchebags exist.

Yeah. I’ll just not talk about it to my doctors. Okay pal.

What does being gay have to do with your health?

It’s a sexual orientation not a race, sex, or anything that can actually have an impact on general health.

A lot.

Recommend you educate yourself on it when you have a chance. Might be enlightening.

So being gay makes you more susceptible to diseases or have more resistance? Like come on…

Now if you’re talking about mental health due to bigotry then sure, but I don’t see how being gay will affect your physical health.

Like I said, best you educate yourself. Not my job to tell you.

If you’re not interested in such matters, mute thread and move on.

At most I can imagine that stress brought on by bigotry and such could make the body more susceptible to illness.

“Then why are you in here, adding to that stress?”

How am I adding to it? I’m asking questions.

“Read your first post. You walked in adding stress.”

Are you a psychologist?

A medical doctor?

Do you have any expertise to base that on or is it just your feeling?

Like I said, you should consider educating yourself when you have time.

Otherwise there isn’t much point to your posts here. You’re clearly not interested.

The mute button is right there.

That no one here needs to answer.

You can do so on your own without bothering people here.

I asked what does being gay have to do with physical health, and I pretty much answered it my self.

So how am I adding to it stress. And why do u keep quoting yourself.

“In your first post you said they should all HIDE what they are. That is a big part of the problem. They shouldn’t be told to hide, just because they are different.”

Dude… Someone else said that …

It’s their thing.

If I remember correctly it’s something you encounter with older folks, a relic from earlier messaging systems in some circles.

(Please correct me if I’m wrong there Cyndilou.)
